The M.A. program is specifically designed for you if you wish to continue your studies in the biological sciences but do not want to pursue a research-based career. This allows you to enhance your experience for promotion in industry or teaching jobs or for admission to professional schools. Although this program can be completed with no laboratory research experience it is possible for you to perform independent research with a faculty member should you desire some bench-top experience.The M.A. program is ideal for you if you are employed full time or are considering professional schools. Candidates admitted for the M.A. program have a Graduate Record Exam score in each category of at least the 50th percentile with a GPA of 3.0. However, if you have academic deficiencies but have exceptional records in non-academic areas, you may be provisionally admitted and required to address these deficiencies during the first year in the graduate program.
