International Business at James Madison University is an interdisciplinary program, with students taking international-focused courses from all the business disciplines and the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature. You?ll be expected to develop competency in a second language and culture of your choice.?
All students majoring in International Business are required to study abroad for at least a semester or complete a semester-long international internship in a country where English is not the primary language.?
The program offers two concentrations in:
- International Business - Finance
- International Business - Marketing
Goals
- To provide a strong foundation in the?international?implications for the?business?disciplines.
- To develop students' cultural understanding through course work and a required semester abroad.
- To enable students to gain proficiency in a second language.
- To enable students to develop extensive knowledge of a specific region of the world related to the second language.
- To develop students' competencies in addressing specific managerial issues related to?international?business, such as ethical considerations, managing foreign exchange risk, managing a multicultural work force, etc.
- To facilitate students' continuing development of written and oral communication skills.

- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
