The curriculum in history provides a sound basis to:
- Deepen students? knowledge of history and historical literature.
- Assist high school teachers to further their expertise in history and aid them in becoming ?highly qualified? teachers as defined under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act.
- Prepare students for advanced study at the Ph.D. level or for entry into professional schools such as law, library science, journalism, seminary training, and for careers in business, educational institutions, government, and other areas that require an advanced degree.
- Prepare students for careers in instruction at the community college level, in historical research, government service, and for advancement in job preparation and salary for professionals in education, business, and industry.
The Master of Arts in History is organized as a generalist program, with an emphasis on United States history.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Applicant should have a bachelors degree with minimum 24 hours in history
- A minimum GPA of 2.75 is required in all previous undergraduate and graduate coursework
- Submit official transcripts of your high school diploma and transcripts attested by a government institution
- Submit a statement of purpose that should address details about your background, academic interest, career aspiration and volunteering experience
- Submit satisfactory scores on the GRE, which shall consist of the attainment of at least two of the three following scores: Verbal, 146; Quantitative, 140; Analytical Writing, 3.5.
- Submit three completed recommendation forms
- Submit a type written essay of minimum 250-350 words which should describe career goals and areas of historical interest
- Submit minimum four pages of writing sample which should contain a research or scholarly essay
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum score of 79 in iBT; 213 in CBT
- IELTS: minimum score of 6.0
- Duolingo: minimum score of 100
- PTE: minimum score of 54
- TOEIC: minimum score of 670
