Creative writing students and faculty form an exciting literary community, which offers many opportunities to get involved, like the?Student Writers Union,?FishHook?(a student literary magazine),?Southern Indiana Review?(a national bi-annual literary journal) and the?Southern Indiana?Reading Series.
The English Department offers a major in English with a creative writing emphasis, as well as a minor and a certificate in creative writing.
The major in English with a creative writing emphasis culminates in?a?Bachelor of Arts degree, which?requires 12 semester hours in the same foreign language or demonstration of proficiency at that level of study.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts in a sealed envelope that is signed by authorized official
- Official transcripts must contain the list of all subjects taken and grades earned for each year of study
- Submit an official proof of graduation that should include official graduation certificate or diploma
- Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or equivalent on a scale of 4
- Submitting official SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores

- TOEFL: minimum 71 in iBT;
- IELTS: minimum 6
- PTE: minimum 50
