The Dance Program is built upon deep commitment to both the art and the science of dance. In an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect, students and faculty join to create a program with an inclusive, embracing climate, able to serve a varied community.
Those who are serious about studying dance may pursue a major in dance, in any of a number of concentrations. The major is designed to flexibly meet the student's needs while providing a solid background in dance history and theory, along with intensive study in a variety of dance techniques.
The dance major serves as excellent preparation for graduate study and careers in dance. Dance majors typically pursue careers in performance, teaching, choreography, dance therapy, physical therapy, and arts management.
The Dance Performance students receive intensive, daily studio training in a wide range of dance techniques, as well as a solid historical and theoretical background in dance. Technique courses are offered through advanced levels in ballet, modern, jazz, and tap, as well as in partnering, aerial acrobatics, pointe, and African dance. Students who wish to pursure a career in dance will be served by both the analytical study and personal development of dance performance.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of secondary school and all previous education completed
- Official transcripts must contain course by course evaluation and should be evaluated by a NACES accredited agency
- Submit a school report with official school recommendation from a counselor, teacher etc
- Submit a teacher recommendation from a core subject teacher
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Students with test optional policy must complete an interview
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 80 in ibt; 550 in PBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
- Duolingo: minimum 105
