Master of Arts [M.A] [Architecture] From University of Plymouth

You are expected to complete taught modules at masters level in research methods, critical appraisal of literature and research planning. In addition, you are required to submit a research thesis.

Every DVetMed and DVetSurg student will be allocated to a supervisor, or supervisors. Progression through the period of study is closely monitored through regular meetings with the students' supervisory committee and by reviews with an internal postgraduate progress committee in years one and two.

The DVetMed DVetSurg programme is allied to the programme specification of the PhD and as such annual mentoring, assessment and progression and the appointment of Internal and External Examiners are on the same basis as those of an PhD.

A candidate for the degree of DVetMed or DVetSurg must:

• Undertake and pass at 50% or above, assessments for 120 credits of taught modules for which they have registered (normally during theÊfirst two years of the course for full-time students)
• Submit and pass a research portfolio (60 credits), comprising a minimum of 20 assets, evidencing research methods training
• Produce a critical appraisal of literature (30 credits) in an aspect of clinical research related to their research area.Ê The critical review will be between 8,000-10,000 words
• Develop a research plan (30 credits) involving appropriate project planning, evaluation criteria and assessment methods. The project plan will be between 6,000-8,000 words
• Submit a thesis of between 50,000 and 60,000 words
