Academic Requirements

  • A 2:2 honours degree, or international equivalent (58-63% or CGPA (5.8-6.3)/10), in mechanical or mechanical related engineering (eg automotive, aeronautical, mechatronics, materials or design), maths or physics, or any other closely related discipline
  • Relevant professional experience is desirable, although not essential.
  • The University will consider your application on an individual basis if you have lower or non-standard qualifications and significant, relevant professional experience.

Specialised Application Information

  • Apply for the Mechanical Engineering MSc (code 5120F) and choose a specialist stream (Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Material) when you register.

English Proficiency Score

  • IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in all sub-skills).
  • TOEFL iBT and TOEFL IBT Special Home Edition 90 overall (with a minimum of 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking, and 17 in writing).
  • PTE 70 overall (with a minimum of 59 in all sub-skills).
  • Duolingo 125 overall (with a minimum of 105 in Writing, Reading, Speaking and 100 in Listening).
