University of East London fees for Indian students require a quick intake decision because applications for most January 2027 courses close on 27 November 2026. For 2026/27, undergraduate tuition is GBP 16,020 (INR 20.33 Lakhs) per year. One-year postgraduate tuition spans GBP 17,220 (INR 21.86 Lakhs) to GBP 19,500 (INR 24.75 Lakhs), with the Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the upper end.

London living expenses create the larger budget swing. The University of East London (UEL) advises GBP 1,300 (INR 1.65 Lakhs) to GBP 1,800 (INR 2.28 Lakhs) per month for accommodation, food, travel, bills and personal spending. Docklands Student Village offers university-managed, on-campus housing, meaning accommodation located on the academic campus. Its 267-night 2026/27 contracts range from GBP 6,942 (INR 8.81 Lakhs) for a West standard room to GBP 9,078 (INR 11.52 Lakhs) for an East studio, with utilities and Wi-Fi included.

A one-year MBA first-year budget is GBP 36,434 (INR 46.24 Lakhs) to GBP 42,434 (INR 53.86 Lakhs), using 12 months of UEL’s living-cost range and a one-year comparison for visa and health charges. It excludes airfare, a tuberculosis test, equipment, books, housing advance payments and any Immigration Health Surcharge amount above the one-year comparison. Currency conversion uses 1 GBP = INR 126.92, supplied from open.er-api.com for 23 October 2026.

January 2027 Intake: Deadline Pressure

Intake: Most January 2027 courses close on 27 November 2026. UEL must issue a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), the document needed for a United Kingdom (UK) Student Visa, by 17 December 2026 for the standard route or 7 January 2027 for the priority route. The usual government decision time is three weeks, so the intake remains workable if each UEL deadline is met, without guaranteeing a visa outcome. September 2027 deadlines are not yet published.

Fee update: The 2026/27 undergraduate rate is GBP 16,020 (INR 20.33 Lakhs). Postgraduate tuition in the ten-course comparison is GBP 17,220 (INR 21.86 Lakhs) to GBP 19,500 (INR 24.75 Lakhs). September 2027 international fees remain unpublished.

When to pay: The full deposit is offer-specific, but GBP 1,500 (INR 1.90 Lakhs) can start pre-CAS checks; UEL must receive the required offer-letter deposit by 9 December 2026.

Scholarships: The 27 November 2026 course deadline controls automatic assessment for UEL’s GBP 500 (INR 63,460) to GBP 5,000 (INR 6.35 Lakhs) international award. Chevening and Commonwealth Master’s 2027/28 rounds are closed; the next cycles are not announced.

University of East London Tuition Fees by Programme

UEL’s 2026/27 fee structure separates the GBP 19,500 (INR 24.75 Lakhs) MBA from GBP 17,220 (INR 21.86 Lakhs) and GBP 17,700 (INR 22.46 Lakhs) postgraduate groups. The University of East London admissions guide helps compare academic and English-language conditions before paying the offer-specific deposit.

Postgraduate Fees: January 2027

All ten postgraduate rows use the one-year, full-time route and accept January 2027 entry. Master of Science (MSc) identifies the main postgraduate award in the table. Tuition is charged for the academic year, and optional placement versions are excluded from the full-course figure.

  • The MBA placement route adds a second-year placement fee of GBP 3,500 (INR 4.44 Lakhs); the one-year MBA row does not include it.
  • Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering Management and Project Management with Digital Technology also offer placement routes with the same GBP 3,500 (INR 4.44 Lakhs) second-year charge.
  • Public Health MSc requires a health-related bachelor’s degree and International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.5 overall, so these conditions should be cleared before committing funds.
  • The deposit is not a uniform course charge. The offer letter gives the total needed for CAS issuance.

University of East London Undergraduate Fees: January 2027

The five January-entry undergraduate routes use the 2026/27 international rate of GBP 16,020 (INR 20.33 Lakhs) per year. Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Bachelor of Arts (BA) identify the award; Honours (Hons) is part of UEL’s official title.

  • Computer Science and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence require relevant mathematical or computing preparation; the latter lists Mathematics, Computer Science or another relevant subject among its accepted routes.
  • Marketing lists IELTS 5.5 for the standard degree, while programme-specific English conditions can differ across the five awards.
  • UEL also displays optional placement and foundation routes on several course pages. Their longer duration is not included in the three-year calculation.
  • The annual tuition rate excludes personal devices, books, printing, optional visits and transport, although UEL operates a free intersite bus between its campuses.

University of East London Fee Trend by Year

The comparable full-time international undergraduate category rose from GBP 15,560 (INR 19.75 Lakhs) in 2025/26 to GBP 16,020 (INR 20.33 Lakhs) in 2026/27, a 2.96% increase.

Both INR values use the current reference rate, isolating the local-currency tuition change rather than mixing in historical exchange-rate movement.

Key Insight: The 2.96% movement is historical evidence, not a September 2027 forecast. UEL has not published that intake’s international fee, so a three-year undergraduate total should remain a current-rate comparison.

Cost of Living in East London for Indian Students

UEL’s cost of living guidance is GBP 1,300 (INR 1.65 Lakhs) to GBP 1,800 (INR 2.28 Lakhs) per month, covering accommodation, food, travel, bills and personal expenses. The annual values below multiply that published range by 12 months.

  • Docklands Student Village is on the Docklands academic campus and houses more than 1,100 students in East and West Halls.
  • The 267-night academic-year contract costs GBP 6,942 (INR 8.81 Lakhs) to GBP 9,078 (INR 11.52 Lakhs), depending on room type.
  • The 353-night academic-year-and-summer contract costs GBP 10,590 (INR 13.44 Lakhs) to GBP 12,002 (INR 15.23 Lakhs) for the published East standard and studio endpoints.
  • On-campus rent includes gas, electricity, water, Wi-Fi and maintenance. Private housing is off-campus housing arranged outside UEL, and the university does not publish a current comparable private-rent range.
  • The 2026/27 accommodation guarantee deadline was 1 June 2026, so January 2027 applicants should treat halls as subject to availability rather than guaranteed.

The UK Student Visa guide explains the separate proof-of-funds test. For applications made from 30 November 2026, the London maintenance requirement becomes GBP 1,570 (INR 1.99 Lakhs) per month for up to nine months, or GBP 14,130 (INR 17.93 Lakhs). This is a visa minimum, not UEL’s estimate of actual annual spending.

Currency Tip: The January 2027 deposit must reach UEL by 9 December 2026. Tuition is fixed in GBP, but the INR debit depends on the exchange rate and payment-provider charges on the remittance date.

Total Cost of Studying at the University of East London

The MBA worked example produces a true first academic year budget of GBP 36,434 (INR 46.24 Lakhs) to GBP 42,434 (INR 53.86 Lakhs). It combines one year of tuition, 12 months of UEL’s living-cost range, the GBP 558 (INR 70,821) Student Visa fee and a one-year Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) comparison of GBP 776 (INR 98,490).

  • Tuition covers the one-year MBA and does not include the optional placement-year fee.
  • The GBP 1,500 (INR 1.90 Lakhs) initial pre-CAS payment is part of tuition, so it is not added again.
  • The IHS is paid upfront for the visa’s full duration. The table shows one year only because the final charge depends on the CAS course dates and visa length.
  • The total excludes airfare, tuberculosis testing, books, a laptop, private-housing deposits and any IHS amount above the one-year comparison.

University of East London Scholarships for Indian Students

UEL’s broadest current support is an automatic first-year award of GBP 500 (INR 63,460) to GBP 5,000 (INR 6.35 Lakhs) for eligible self-funded international students. External fully funded routes are aimed at September 2027 entry, but their 2027/28 application rounds are already closed.

University of East London Tuition Deposit and Payment Options

UEL does not publish one standard deposit for every course. The offer letter states the full amount and structure. A payment of GBP 1,500 (INR 1.90 Lakhs) starts pre-CAS checks, but a further offer-specific payment is required before CAS issuance and enrolment.

Payment Schedule: January 2027

  • Meet the academic and English-language conditions in the offer.
  • Pay the offer-letter deposit through Flywire by 9 December 2026. The deposit counts toward tuition and is not an extra fee.
  • Complete the pre-CAS interview by 16 December 2026 and submit the required financial, tuberculosis and immigration documents by UEL’s applicable deadline.
  • After the deposit and pre-CAS checks, UEL can issue the CAS by the route-specific deadline.
  • Pay in full or set up the instalment plan by enrolment. The plan starts with at least 20% of tuition, followed by four equal monthly card payments, with the balance cleared within ten weeks of the course start.

Flywire is UEL’s preferred international payment provider and accepts local-currency payments. Bank transfer is available when Flywire cannot be used, while enrolled students can use card or PayPal through UEL Direct. The UK intake guide provides broader timing context, but the UEL offer and CAS schedule control this payment sequence.

Source: UEL international payment and Student Visa pages.

Note: Paying GBP 1,500 (INR 1.90 Lakhs) does not complete the CAS payment requirement unless the offer says so. The full offer-specific deposit must reach UEL by 9 December 2026.

Hidden Costs of Studying at the University of East London

The largest fixed pre-arrival charge outside tuition is immigration. A Student Visa application from outside the United Kingdom costs GBP 558 (INR 70,821), while the student IHS rate is GBP 776 (INR 98,490) per year and is charged upfront for the full visa duration.

Known partial subtotalGBP 2,834 (INR 3.60 Lakhs)Not a complete pre-arrival minimum

Source: UEL international payment page; GOV.UK Student Visa charges.

The partial subtotal excludes the rest of the course-specific CAS deposit, any IHS amount beyond one year, tuberculosis testing, airfare, housing advance payments, foreign-exchange charges, laptops, books and programme-specific materials. These omissions prevent the subtotal from being treated as the full cash requirement.

  • For Student Visa applications made from 30 November 2026, the London maintenance evidence is GBP 14,130 (INR 17.93 Lakhs) for nine months, plus unpaid first-year tuition shown on the CAS.
  • Programme pages state that personal devices, books, printing, optional visits and external events can sit outside tuition, but UEL does not publish one reliable amount for every student.
  • Private housing deposits and separate utility bills remain variable and are excluded from the known partial subtotal.

Fee Saving Strategies for Indian Students at UEL

UEL’s published 5% early-payment discount can reduce the one-year MBA fee by GBP 975 (INR 1.24 Lakhs). That gives GBP 18,525 (INR 23.51 Lakhs) when calculated on the published tuition without another fee waiver and when every offer condition is met.

  • Complete the course application before 27 November 2026 so UEL can assess the automatic international scholarship before the January 2027 payment sequence begins.
  • Compare the automatic scholarship with the early-payment discount and any Global Campus award. UEL’s terms do not allow the Global Campus discount to stack with another scholarship.
  • Choose the one-year route only after comparing it with the optional placement route. The placement adds GBP 3,500 (INR 4.44 Lakhs) in tuition and extends living costs, so it needs a clear academic or career purpose.
  • Use the free intersite bus when travelling between Docklands and Stratford campuses; it removes a campus-to-campus fare, although UEL does not publish a fixed annual saving.
  • Treat part-time work as supplementary cash flow, not as a tuition plan. Work permission depends on Student Visa conditions and does not remove the maintenance evidence requirement.

Is the University of East London Worth the Cost for Indian Students

UEL is a cost-conscious London option only when the student values its course format and can fund London living without depending on uncertain work income. The one-year MBA midpoint budget is GBP 39,434 (INR 50.05 Lakhs), while the 2026/27 mainstream undergraduate tuition-only comparison reaches GBP 48,060 (INR 61.00 Lakhs) over three years at unchanged rates.

The outcome evidence is mixed. UEL reports 91% of graduates in work or further study within 15 months. The Guardian University Guide 2026 places UEL 33rd in the United Kingdom, while Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2027 places it in the 1001-1200 band. The University of East London ranking comparison shows why domestic teaching indicators and global research measures should not be treated as the same signal.

The United Kingdom master’s comparison is useful for testing UEL against higher-fee alternatives. Graduates applying for the Graduate Route from 1 January 2027 receive 18 months of permission after an eligible bachelor’s or master’s degree, not two years. That route does not guarantee employment or recover the study cost.

Key Insight: UEL’s value case rests on a one-year postgraduate format, automatic international scholarship assessment and on-campus Docklands housing. It is weaker when the plan assumes a guaranteed scholarship, guaranteed halls place or two full years on the Graduate Route.

For January 2027, UEL postgraduate tuition is GBP 17,220 (INR 21.86 Lakhs) to GBP 19,500 (INR 24.75 Lakhs), but London living pushes the one-year MBA budget to GBP 36,434 (INR 46.24 Lakhs) to GBP 42,434 (INR 53.86 Lakhs). The 27 November application deadline makes document readiness the immediate decision.

University of East London Fees FAQs

Ques. How much are University of East London fees for Indian students?

Ans. For 2026/27, full-time undergraduate tuition is GBP 16,020 (INR 20.33 Lakhs) per year. The ten one-year postgraduate courses compared here cost GBP 17,220 (INR 21.86 Lakhs) to GBP 19,500 (INR 24.75 Lakhs).

Ques. What is the total cost of the University of East London MBA?

Ans. The one-year MBA first-year budget is GBP 36,434 (INR 46.24 Lakhs) to GBP 42,434 (INR 53.86 Lakhs), including tuition, 12 months of UEL’s living-cost range, the Student Visa fee and a one-year IHS comparison. It excludes airfare, tuberculosis testing, equipment, books, housing advance payments and any IHS amount above one year.

Ques. How much deposit does UEL require before issuing a CAS?

Ans. UEL puts the full deposit amount in the offer letter because it varies by course and level. GBP 1,500 (INR 1.90 Lakhs) can start pre-CAS checks, but a further payment is required before CAS issuance and enrolment; the January 2027 deposit deadline is 9 December 2026.

Ques. Is the University of East London January 2027 intake still realistic?

Ans. Yes, provided the application is submitted by 27 November 2026, the required deposit reaches UEL by 9 December 2026 and the pre-CAS steps finish on schedule. The usual Student Visa decision time outside the United Kingdom is three weeks, but neither UEL nor the government guarantees an approval date.

Ques. Does UEL automatically give scholarships to international students?

Ans. UEL automatically assesses complete applications for its international scholarship, worth GBP 500 (INR 63,460) to GBP 5,000 (INR 6.35 Lakhs) off first-year tuition on eligible courses. The award is discretionary and appears in the offer letter, so it should not be deducted from the budget before confirmation.

Ques. How much money must be shown for a UEL Student Visa after 30 November 2026?

Ans. The London maintenance requirement becomes GBP 1,570 (INR 1.99 Lakhs) per month for up to nine months, or GBP 14,130 (INR 17.93 Lakhs). Unpaid first-year tuition shown on the CAS is required in addition, and the funds normally must satisfy the 28-day holding rule.

Ques. Will a January 2027 UEL graduate receive a two-year Graduate Route?

Ans. No. A bachelor’s or master’s graduate applying from 1 January 2027 receives 18 months under the current Graduate Route rules. Doctoral graduates continue to receive three years, and the route does not guarantee a job.

  • The University of East London has a 91% employability rate (could vary). It took me a while to land a job I wanted and sometimes I think I still don't have my dream job, but everyone has a different journey. Salary range also differs on different factors, like have you applied for a PSW? Where are you working and what is your field of expertise?

  • Positive aspects about the course that we get to learn something new that I was not aware of before. And negative aspects are that some parts of the course are too old, which right now in the market no one is using.

Fees

  • Tuition fees: the tuition fees of my course are 18000 pounds overall for a year.
  • I didn't take hostel because it was too costly inside the university. So I decided to take it outside the college and I took a rented house where I needed to pay 450 pounds per month and it was in sharing with one person. I had to pay 450 pounds, including all the bills, except groceries.
  • Fee charged at my college is semester wise or you can pay the whole fees in one go; it's up to you but there is a deadline for all, which you have to follow, or else you will pay more than usual.
  • Monthly expenses, including all, will be 700-800 pounds.

  • The course difficulty is definitely easy. They are structured very well and the topics included are very relative to the module. The classes are a mix of both practical and theory. We have theory classes on wednesday and thursday, and then practicals on thursday and fridays. So it is managed really well. Classes are evenly managed throughout the day.
  • My course is cloud computing, the factor which makes my course stand out is that, our course leader is going to take us on a visit to an actual datacenter to see how the cloud actually works. That is something very brilliant and noteworthy.
  • I dont have as such favourite professors, every professor is really nice to me, i have good connections with them as i am really punctual and curious student and we have an healthy interaction in our classes.
  • Career zone is the place where one should go to if they need assistance with the part time jobs

Fees

  • My yearly fees is £15960 for the first year. I have a placement year as well so additional £3500 for that.
  • I also have the oncampus occomodation till term 1(january). It costs me £750 per month including all the bills and maintenance.
  • My monthly expense for all the groceries is around £50-60, but that is subjective. If you are a fun and outgoing person, it will definitely cost you more.

  • The course I took was Master of Business Administration in Business Analytics which was quite interesting and not so hard to understand. It had both theoretical and practical which helped in understand the present scenario in the business.
  • The practical knowledge more helped in decision-making skills and problem-solving skills.

Fees

  • For my Total course fees - 24000 GBP, My Hostel and mess charges 15000 GBP and for transport, weekend expenses and parties, for tour and travelling charges are about 5000 GBP.
  • I paid my total fees in two installment. Monthly with all expenses it cost me about 1500 GBP approx.
  • Some times I spend more for one month and budget it for another month which overall balanced the budget

In my opinion, the course curriculum could be more focused on core skills and tools essential for our field. Given that this is a one-year program with significant breaks between terms, I believe the university should prioritise teaching practical tools like Excel, Python, Tableau, and Power BI. These skills are crucial for our future careers, and dedicating more time to them would be beneficial, rather than rushing through the content in just two terms.
