Data Scientists are in short supply and there is high demand for data science skills across sectors including business, government, healthcare, science, finance, and marketing.
  • The aim of the MSc in Data Science is to support students with little previous experience of data analysis or computer programming and to help them to gain new skills such as working with databases; statistical thinking; programming in high-level languages; modelling; applying data science tools and packages; machine learning; information retrieval; data visualisation and addressing the challenges of big data.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academics

  • Students must achieve 60% in a 3 Year Undergraduate Degree or 55% in a 4 Year.Undergraduate Degree 
  • Students from the following Universities will be considered with 55% in a 3 Year Undergraduate Degree (unless applying for Health and Life Science courses): Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai (Madras), Anna, Amity, Andhra Pradesh, Aligarh Muslim, Pune, Bangalore and JNTU.

English Requirement

  • 65% in Standard XII English language from certain examination boards only (Central boards, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Uttarakhand), or
  • IELTS 6.5 overall with no component lower than 5.5 (except where course requirements are higher) and other acceptable SELT tests such as the Pearson Test of English (PTE).
  • Students not meeting the above can take the Coventry University English Test.

Upon successful completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Apply research skills such as planning research, and critical analysis of information from appropriate sources, demonstrate awareness of current issues and show originality in the application of knowledge where appropriate.
