- An MA in Applied Linguistics is the best way to develop a deeper understanding of the many ways in which languages work and the many different fields to which the practical study of languages can be applied.
- Although the program focuses on the English language, its theoretical and practical insights can be equally applied to other languages.
- Participating in this program gives applicants the opportunity to strengthen their theoretical knowledge of all the formal aspects of the English language, while at the same time exploring how pervasive and powerful language use is in their societies.
- As part of their degree, they will see how language is used and researched in a variety of professional contexts; media, advertising, education, translation, healthcare and the law being some examples.
- The practical component of the degree will give them opportunities to put into practice what they have learnt in one or more of these professional areas.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Applicants must have a good undergraduate degree (2:2 or above).
Indian Students Eligibility:
- Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science degree of at least 3 years duration or a Professional Degree (4 years)
English Proficiency:
- International students (with a first degree from a non-UK higher education institution), need to demonstrate English language proficiency, with a combined 6.5 IELTS score (or equivalent).
