Students applying for visas from outside the UK mandatorily need to collect a biometric residence permit or BRP. You should ideally collect your BRP within 10 days of arriving in the UK or before the vignette sticker in your travel document expires, whichever is later.

How to Use Priority Service for UK Student Visa?
Eligible students are allowed to choose the ‘priority service’ while applying for UK student visa. Students need to pay £500 (54,530 INR) additionally along with the application fee. Students generally get the decision of priority service within 5 working days and Family visa within 30 working days. This time is calculated from:
- Your appointment day, if you prove your identity in person
- The working day after you finish document uploading using the UK Immigration: ID Check app.

How to Use Super Priority Service for UK Student Visa?
Eligible students need to pay £1,000 (1.09 lakhs INR) in addition to the application fee to get the 'super priority service'. In this case, your visa decision time will depend on how quickly you provide your identity.
If students prove their identity in person, the decision will usually be provided:
- By the end of the next working day after the date of the appointment, if the appointment is on a weekday.
- 2 working days after the appointment date, if the appointment is on a weekend or a bank holiday.
Note: For both priority and super priority service, The time taken might be longer than expected if the Home Office requires more information from you.
The office will tell you whether you can provide your identity in person or through the app.

Application via UK Immigration: ID Check App
Students using 'UK Immigration: ID Check' app usually get a decision by:
- The end of the next working day if document uploading is finished on a weekday
- 2 working days after completion of document uploading, done on a weekend or a bank holiday.

For every family member, an additional fee needs to be paid for faster decisions. In this case, the decision for all family members will be provided together.
If any family member needs to get their fingerprints and photograph taken in person, a decision might take longer than usual.
After completing the application, you will receive a letter or email stating the Home Office has decided on your visa application. It will also tell you about what needs to be done next. Students are advised to check their spam folder in an email if they face any problems while getting messages from the Home Office.

UK Student Visa Priority Fee Refund
To ask for a refund, you should email the priority services refund requests team and explain why you deserve the refund. However, if your visa application is refused, you will get no refund.
You will not get a refund of your priority service fee, if:
- You were instructed to prove your identity in person, but you have already provided fingerprints and photos.
- You did not receive a decision in time, as you failed to provide more information or evidence asked by the Home Office.
