The Engineering Department has a strong tradition in the field of engineering education and engineering courses have been delivered successfully at Bolton for 40 years. All of our academic staff are highly qualified in their own fields and many of them are chartered engineers with substantial experience in the engineering sector.

The department offers a friendly, yet challenging, environment where the emphasis is on both the theories and principles of mechanical engineering and their application in a work context. During your studies you will have the opportunity to work on real engineering projects and participate in inter-university student competitions.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

96 UCAS points from at least two A2-levels (or equivalent) including mathematics and another relevant subject such as technology, engineering or science, both to at least AS-level (or equivalent).

Additional mathematics subjects, such as further maths and statistics, will be accepted as a relevant subject.

Student should also have five GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent) including English, mathematics and science.

Student do not meet the entry requirements for this course please consider our BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering with Foundation course.

Student have an HND/C in Mechanical Engineering (or an appropriate engineering discipline) then you may be considered for entry to level 2 of this programme depending on the subject area of qualification and the level of maths and science that you have achieved. If you are granted full exemption from the level 1 modules of this course you will be able to complete the course in two years. Otherwise, it will take you three years to complete the course. Before applying please check whether you will be eligible for student loans for the duration of the course.
