Master of Science [M.S] [Tourism Studies] From Mid Sweden University

The Tourism Studies program at Mid Sweden University deals with destinations development, and sustainability issues. During your education, you as a student take part in an interesting combination of courses, study visits and independent research. Upon completion of your studies, you have a strong track record that gives you the opportunity to work in leading positions and to conduct research in a global context. Examinations in this program can either be taken tourism or human geography. Teaching in this program takes place in English.

The program is offered at Mid Sweden University campus in ?stersund, which is an ideal environment for studying tourism and sustainable development. Easy proximity to the Swedish and Norwegian mountains, means that students can easily access many of the region's top destinations. Because the program is linked to the European Tourism Research Institute, this enables students to participate in current research and develop international contacts.

After the program

Our graduates can be found in several different positions in both the public and private sectors. Our graduates work as destination planners, analysts, or in tourism services and destination development. The program provides a basis for further studies at the graduate level. MIUN itself offers a PhD program in tourism studies.
