Remarks :
Positive- good placements for reserving students, helpful seniors, helpful and fun loving teachers Negative- Not very good infrastructure , broken lab equipment, angry teachers, Punjabi prevalence.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is being updated and hasn't been notified to us yet , regarding the exam structure , it is average. Marks aren't distributed based on personal bias like some colleges do. So students get the marks accordingly how much they studied for.
Placement Experience :
Placements are good if you are capable. Companies visit our campus but many go with 0 students because students aren't as capable. College provides internship externally. I am a first year student so no experience with that part.
College Events :
Events are huge here, Punjabi community. That's all I can say. Many celebrities do visit here but the events are nowhere close IIT or DTU events, also students are charged for taking part in such events. This is pathetic.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fees is 120000 for first year and 110000 for the rest 3 years. Charges are there from 5-10K for normal college stuff. Our college acts a bit cheaper side and demands money for little things like forms too, no college does like that
Fees and Financial Aid :
No direct loan facility is available, but you can opt loan through PNB. Scholarships are good for deserving students. They provide upto 25% fee waiver if CGPA above 8 is maintained by the student. I haven't availed any such loan right now.
Campus Life :
We have a small ground but it's enough for football or cricket, Sports are not actively supported here but considered only for fun/ leisure activity. Labs are great , have broken equipment and stuff but they get replacement every few months.
Alumni/Alumna :
Seniors are helpful but the alumni network is really weak. Just for reference, I made 5 senior friends and met over 20 seniors on the first day itself but haven't met or got to know about a single alumni , it's been a week since I joined.
Admission :
I got admission through JEE Main examination. After the score card is released, we have to register on IPU website for taking admissions (?1000 form charges) After a few months the schedule is released by University regarding procedure and college choice filling, following that we get admission in the colleges. My score was very average so got admitted into GTBIT.
Faculty :
In my opinion if you can get better college like Maharaja Agrasen then go for that. Else nothing is too bad to criticize. The college is sikh minority so you might have some problems if you don't understand punjabi, I understand a bit so pretty much comfortable.
