Remarks :

The college is located in shillong in a picturesque location and has a humongous campus with waterfalls, forests, lakes, hills, pine trees to shopping complex, health center, indoor stadium, salon, restaurants etc. It has beautiful cherry blossom trees which bloom during winter for a brief period of time.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum perhaps hasn't been changed in the past decade. The exams are semester wise and we have 3 internal assessment tests for each paper. You have to appear at least for two out of the three internal assessment exams for each paper. Best two out of the three are taken into consideration and their average is added to the scores of the end semester exams

Placement Experience :

Our department doesn't provide placement or internship opportunities but if course required an industrial visit, they do conduct an industrial visit. But no internships are provided through the department

College Events :

General fresher's, Varsity fest and University week, general farewell, Christmas celebration. Besides these there are plenty of dj nights, reggae nights and masquerade ball. The university also conducts yoga week, sports week and also seminars, workshops at frequent integrals on various topics

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees structure is very feasible as it is a central university especially for the tribals of north east India. The priority while giving admission is given to schedule tribes of the north Eastern States but the fees structure is such that even a candidate from economically weaker section can also afford it

Fees and Financial Aid :

There are plenty of scholarships available, one amongst them is the scholarship for all students or NEHU which is provided by Dean of students welfare. It gives every student 3000rs per year irrespective of their caste. I didn't apply for this scholarship before since I was unaware of it

Campus Life :

Extracurricular and cocurricular activities are conducted every now and then. They can be quizzes, essay and poetry writing, painting, elocution. The lab facilities are good and there is a gymnasium and sports department inside the university

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel infrastructure and facilities are value for money and best in class. The hostel fees is as less as 150rs per month. We have unlimited access to WiFi in hostel and also 24/7 hot water for shower besides purifier water for drinking. The hostel rooms are on triple sharing basis

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna :

The research scholars and the seniors are very helpful. They help us from the very beginning in looking for paying guests when hostels aren't alloted. They gives us advices and suggestions for Viva during practicals and also important questions during end semester exams.

Admission :

You have to fill an online admission form and submit your testimonials to the office of the concerned department either personally or by post before the examination. Appear for the entrance exam on the declared date and the merit list prepared on basis of both graduation marks and performance in the entrance exam

Faculty :

The faculty is experienced in research and are professional of proven excellence in their respective fields of study and also the faculty has a prowess in research and foster the students to pursue PhD and to contribute back to the subject through new Discovery and publications of research work

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is according to the new NEP program. The course are quite easy and understandable as there are related to the topics done in your Bachelors degree. The exams a done every 6 months and also 3 internals each semester from which best of two will be taken.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen to complete this course as I got a good scope in this field. Moreover, the teaching facility at the University has entertained me to stick to it. Review of NEHU, Shillong

Remarks:

The university is located a bit far from the city center and on Sunday commuting is a bit difficult from the university and very few cabs are available. The university has a great fleet of buses and they help the students to commute to all parts of the city from Monday to Saturday. There are plenty of shops, canteen,restaurants and departmental stores inside the campus.
