Course Curriculum Overview :

MBBS is a very relevant and comprehensive course. A central body called NMC looks over all the undergraduate students all over the country. I had a good interest in biology and life sciences which made me choose PCMB in 11th and 12th and respectively choose MBBS as my undergraduate degree. The ciricullum always strives to help the student understand real life applications with clinical aspects in every chapter and every sub topic. Practicals and theory are both well planned for all the subjects throughout the duration of the course to help each student learn the basics that will be applied in real life during hospital visits and clinical laboratories. The ciricullum also offers a course on attitude, ethics and communication called AETCOM to help students get better communicating with patients they come across everyday in hospital. These AETCOM classes are conducted regularly every month by every department.

Fees and Financial Aid :

Tuition fee is as per KNRUHS guidelines, depending on the category A category/govt quota: 60,000 university fee + 47,400 college fee B category/management quota: 13,00,000 university fee+ 47,400 college fee C category/management quota: 26,000 university fee + 47,400 college fee Scholarship given to underprivileged and backward castes by the govt of Telangana. Scholarships can be applied in the Kaloji Narayanrao University of Health Sciences website.

Campus Life :

I had a decent experience with the college so far. Good infrastructure and very good academics but lacks in extracurriculars and sports. One fest is conducted every year annually called Rivayath and Malang. They are usually held in summer before the vacation. Academics events and conferences are regularly held by every department as a part of CPD. Library offers a wide range of books from UG level to superspeciality and journals. Books for NEET PG preparation are also present in the library. Classrooms are big, spacious and air conditioned. The lecture halls have 3 smart boards. Advanced biometric system with face recognition is present for marking attendance. Sports and extracurriculars are not much but a mental health club run by the students itself is present. They conduct movie nights and art therapy once in a while.

Admission :

I chose this college because it's close to my home, and it lies in an accessible location. This college is also among the top 2 private medical colleges in my state with a very high reputation and good patient inflow. These are all the factors that made me choose this college. I have also applied to other govt and private medical colleges in the city. I couldn't get into the top 3 govt medical colleges as I fell short of the cutoff. I had also applied for Apollo medical college which is considered the best private college in Telangana but fell short of the cutoff by 20 marks. Kamineni is next in ranking after Apollo and also lies in the top 5 colleges in the state so I opted to join Kamineni. The admission process is through KNRUHS state counselling. The eligibility exam is NEET-UG. It is the only eligibility examination for MBBS in any college in India. The cutoffs for Kamineni lie on the higher end around 570-580 and might increase this year.

Faculty :

Very good faculty to student ratio with around 6-10 faculty in every department. Faculty are very professional and well qualified, they are very approachable and friendly with students. Formative assessments and slip tests are conducted every month in each subject after completion on of a unit. Internal examinations are regularly conducted once every 2-3 months. 3 internals are conducted in the college including 1 prefinal. Practical exams are also conducted along with every internal examination. Final exams are conducted by the university at the end of each prof/year. Theory and practical exams will be held in the college itself with an external examiner overlooking the exam procedure.

Other Applied Colleges

Couldn’t clear cutoff

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research - [IISER] | Bachelor of Science [BS] + Master of Science [MS] (Biological Sciences)

Backup option

University of Hyderabad - [UOH] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] + Master of Science [M.Sc] (System Biology)

Course Curriculum Overview:

My choice is based on my future, since my parents are doctors and we have a hospital, so I came into this course. The curriculum is pretty through, it's got pretty much everything covered. Not much room for improvement I feel like. The exams are not super hard, and the frequency is just right, there is enough time to prepare and enough time between two exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being a doctor is a very respectful and responsible profession. One deserves the respect after all the years of hardwork. It's not an easy course, it requires many sacrifices and a lot more hardwork day and night. 5 yrs of undergraduation and another 3 yrs of postgraduation. With another 2 years of super-speciality. That is 10 years of one's life. We are dedicated towards patients care and wellbeing. We have a separate thing called "AETCOM" for us to learn the real world applications and hospital postings to have patient doctor interactions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very vast and has a lot to study. During exams time it's very stressful. Even then I chose those course because I love learning about the human body. The curriculum of MBBS is prepared by the NMC. NMC should take care that the curriculum of MBBS is not changed frequently. Depending upon the length of the academic year in the academic calender released by NMC exams are held by the university.
