VIT Chennai College Review

Dislikes

  • Location - This college is located far from the city near the outskirts, even though public transport is available to this college
  • Internet Connectivity - There is a bit slow internet and selected places of 5G net avialability.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Usually, there are some foundational couses that are compulsary , they don't mean much but the math is necessary. Also starting from the second year we are allowed to choose courses we like , either from technical or non technical side, they are so many courses. These curriculum includes theory as well as lab, So what all things you learn in theory there in lab you can directly apply them like solving real world problems and create new methods etc. Course curriculum need to be updated every year and in teaching methods it is suggested to have more one on one interactions with the students. Every 40 days there will be exams and i think the difficulty level is ok because it is the only way to filter out students.

Internships Opportunities :

There are many companies which provide internshipes Jivan Medical Wellbeing pvt - 15,000 Summer Research internship from the college - 1,000 There are others also but currently i dont have the information regarding it.

Placement Experience :

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements The companies visited are many like wipro, Deloitte, TCS etc the number of offers made are available on their website itself you can check it out there. The highest package was 1.3 Cr per annum average is around 6LPA I am not sure about the Statistics, it is available in the website I want to get a job from placement.

Fees and Financial Aid :

Tution fees incresases 5% every year. Actually tutuion fee is based on the rank we get in the VITEEE exam based on it fee category will be given , i got 2 category and tution fee is 304000 and hostel fee including food is 1820000 no scholarship only based on rank. i am currently not undertaken anything

Campus Life :

For us TECHNOVIT was held in October and VIBRANCE was held in March The best place to study in VIT is Library , beacause we get speed internet overthere and calm and silent place, there are nearly 1300 books covering all types and journals are updated every week. Switch boards are acessible for students and projectors are there in every class. The sports events also , Vit encourages sports in a good manner. there are regular taurnaments and inter group competitions. There are 175 clubs which help students gathering and share ideas and also play an important role in the resume.

Hostel Facilities :

There are all types of rooms 1 bed, 2 bed, 3 bed, 4 bed, 6 bed, A/C and non-A/C are also available which can choose based on our comfort. Rates increase as number of beds decreases. Meal quality is ok, no issue Menu is also ok as varieties are there. Registration for a hostel is done during the Admission process, Affordability is mentioned above

Admission :

Eligibility is nothing, it is open to all. Application forms are available on their official website VIT. I am unable to post the link No Reservation ( This is the good thing about this exam) All are equal The exam is conducted only once on 3 days we can choose the centre and date (This is the nice option given to the students) The suggestion is to conduct the exam earlier than Mains and other college admission so students can have an idea of which college to choose.

Faculty :

The faculty-to-student ratio is major concern which impact on learning where VIT are trying to maintain a reasonable ratio, the numbers might vary from department to department and courses also. I think does not have a major impact as i am good with selflearning. Vit has a high number of qualified faculty members, many who hold PHDs from prestigious institutions and have significant research and industry experience. Faculty members are often involved in research which brings their teaching, ensuring that students are exposed to latest skills. Each Faculty member is assigned with a group of students for they have to take responsibility till they complete thier graduation from the college. For me, we are a group of 22 students from the same branch . They are convenient to interact and easy to approach as they are available and solve our queries.

Other Applied Colleges

K L University - [KLH] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science Engineering)

Opted VIT because it has high NIRF ranking than KLU

this is where they lie the most , they claim to have placement records of 97% but in reality its just 10%. because of huge student crowd , placing everyone is one big task. the company that comes here for hiring are mostly startups and some lesser known company . branches like mechanical and EEE have it even more difficult time to get placement.the highest package of over college is of 16 lakhs .
