I have been a student at Gauhati Commerce College for the past 3 years and have been grateful for having the opportunity to be a part of this college. I learned a lot, not just academically but in real life through my peers and professors.
It has a legacy of its own being one of the pioneer commerce college in the northeast region of India

Dislikes

It lacks infrastructure-wise. It's as simple as that. A lot of changes are needed to make things better.
The area is very commercial so it can be a bit chaotic at times. Also, there's a lot of traffic jam

Course Curriculum Overview :

It recently received a B+ NAAC rating. The curriculum is governed by the Gauhati University. It is a vast curriculum but doesn't go into detail to anyone one aspect. Rather than that, it gives a holistic approach to the entire field of commerce

Class Size : 50Course Fees : INR 20000 per year

Placement Experience :

Several companies such as Godrej and TCS came to the University to conduct college placements. I even appeared for the TCS manager exam and hope to land that job. Along with this, I also got selected at Godrej as an sales executive

Fees and Financial Aid :

There will be two main fee- Admission and exam form fillup. Both of them vary according to the semester but overall it comes upto around 20,000 a year. Students belonging to the EWS category can apply for fee waiver

Campus Life :

Campus life is filled with fun activities. You can choose from an array of sports (I went with football) and any such activities. I formed a band with my batchmates and named it BEYOND. We performed at several stages and created the best memories. As a commerce student, I took part in several case study competitions and won our university prizes

Admission :

One can enter GCC with their 12th board results. The cutoff for the first list usually is in an around 90%. Subsequent lists are approved with which students with lesser percentage can get the chance to join this prestigious college.

Faculty :

Great teachers. Most of them have passed out from Gauhati Commerce College and hence know what it is like to represent this college. They put their 100% and are very supportive. I have even been to extra classes that our professors conduct in case any of us has any doubts. The sheer number of professors is truly impressive.

Average fees make this course most pursued.The curriculum prepares you for the real world in a very effective manner. The course should include more subjects connected with the real commerce world rather than focusing on other areas.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The NEP has brought out many useful aspects in the learning journey ... As now , the student gets real life problems to solve ... Which overall helps them in real business problem solving ... And we would get internship in the 3rd semester ... Which also gives an advantage for the students to cope up with things in the future !!

Our College is best in Northeast Guwahati

Placement Experience:

After completion of graduation exams only students are choosen. I have completed B.Com degree from this college and I am very thankful to this college. But placement offers are very less not proportionate as compared to universities

Good for b.com

Admission:

Till my time admission process was totally offline. One need to fill the form and submitted to the college. Merit list is made on the basis of marks obtained in class 12th. Admission is only given on the merit basis.

Placement Experience:

Placement record of this college is quite poor. Although this college only provide general degree courses. There is Not much seen of on campus placement and job offer provide are not very good. Due to this reason many student go for MBA.

College under Gauhati University

Admission:

Getting admission in our college is quite simple one has to make application in offline mode by filling in the detailed application form which is available at the reception of the college along with the prospectus. After submission of the application you have to wait for the approval of college. Once the admission is approved you are required to complete the formalities like submission of fees and document verification. Nowadays admission application is also available online. One reason for opting for this college was that it was close to my residence and was popular in our district.

Placement Experience:

Our college has a placement and recruitment related help centre for Students. However when it comes to getting the students placed with good job packages the institute has almost nothing to offer. A student is on his own for jobs and internships and the college only provides the academic knowledge and degree certification.

I got admission into this college through 10+2 marks. You need to Collect the form from the college itself,fill it up submit it with self attested marksheet and 2 pass port size photographs. Also bring the minorities certificate (if applicable)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course of B.com here is average and better known for arts degree. There are internal exams and end semester exams.You can submit the paper for scrutiny but not for re-evaluation. The college provides bachelor's degree in arts and commerce.
