- conducting of exams and declaration of results on time is something i like about this college...also allocation of events without harming the academic timing is well planned.
- I like the facilties it provides like gymnasium , hostel and library which are maintained and operated quite decently.
Dislikes
- I really dont like the language barrier some teachers uses a very hard and fast accent of assamese which becomes dufficult for students who is not familiar with the language.
- The infrastructure of the college can be improved as there are holes in the ceiling and also the ac's doesnt work properly
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is designed decently for a bachelor of commerce degree and it covers almlost every aspects related to commerce . But it definitely lacks its ability to prepare a student for real wolrd applications as it focuses more on the theory part which is something needed to be improved . Students should be made practically skilled by adopting some different techniques or by changibg the curriculum by making it more practically inclined.The frequency and timing of exam is well planned and executed and the difficulty level is moderate giving room for every students to pass the examination while also taking strict actions on students using unfair means
Fees and Financial Aid :
The fee structure is very affordable considering middle and lower-middle class background students. The students applying under the free scheme just have to pay approximately 2500 rs for 3 years in admission and exam form fees which range from 1000-1500 per semester. Students not under the free scheme have to pay 15000-16000 in admission for 3 years while the exam form fees remain the same as under the free scheme. There are many scholarship opportunities like Ishaan uday providing approx rs 54000 per year to a student for its excellence in 12th board exams and the student will continue getting the scholarship if he/she does not have a back paper in any of the semesters. There are very less likely campus employment opportunities and the once there are not generally preferred by the students.
Campus Life :
The college holds an annual cultural fest the college week every year in February -April any time which is a fest where students show their talent in sports, songs, dance, art, literature, and many more. It is held for a week and its quite an exhilarating experience and a fun time to spend with your friends. Also, other small fests keep happening like after the election program and many more. The college library is also decent and all the important or required books are available. There are many social groups like one for dance, and singing run by students which help you to grow and form more acquaintances and also easy access or performance to any programs. Overall one can expect a good social life in the college if he wishes to participate as the opportunities are very much provided for it by the college.
Admission :
The admission process was quite smooth .I was in the 2021 batch so everything was done online hassle free. Soon after registering the cut offs were released. For general category last cutoff went till 88-89% . For OBC 82-83% and for Sc And St 60-70% considering the marks of 12th board exams without any entrance required for a bcom honors degree. There were adequate helpline numbers and people who you can talk to if faced any difficulty during admissions.I personally didint encountered any difficulties during admission process but some of my friends complained about transaction failure which needs to be checked by optimizing the official college website
Faculty :
The faculty is quite well distributed as there is an adequate amount of teachers for each subject. Also, the young teachers are quite brilliant and I have adapted to their teaching as compared to old teachers. Also, teachers are really helpful in solving doubts and they really do interact with students, especially the new and young appointed teachers. Also, faculties are highly qualified and they guide students really well also their involvement with students is quite appreciable. The faculty can communicate more with students and ask their problems more often.
