Dislikes

Kurukshetra University is one of the best universities in india.24*7 library facilities available.
The only facility that was lacking in the campus is transport facility of the college.No bus services available from college to hostel.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Kurukshetra University is one of the toughest and overrated Univeristy of the North. Toughest in the sense, people spend years to get the degree (I am talking about Btech) not because the subjects are tough but the subject syllabus are out of practice and the exam is checked terribly.

Class Size : 140Course Fees : INR 300000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

Intershala is giving internship in our college.Others like University of Michigan is providing free internship for students of the college.TCS , Flipkart,Amazon is also providing such facilities.I have also done my internships through college.

Placement Experience :

Most companies are visiting the college for placements like TCS , Maruti Suzuki, Bebo etc. At least 50+ companies are visiting for placements.The highest packege is 20LPA and the average will be 4LPA.More than 90 Percent get placed through the campus.

Fees and Financial Aid :

The average academic fee for B.tech per year is 80000-90000.The hostel fee is 60000-70000 per annum.But there are many types of scholarships available like NSP scholarship,UP Scholarship etc. Different scholarships are available for different categories.But I was studying under PMSSS scholarship which is special scholarship for J&K students only.

Campus Life :

Hostel Facilities :

Kurukshetra University provides the best hostel facilities as there are separate hostels for boysband girls.Also the fee of the hostels is very less as compared to other universities. Separate hostels for international students.I was in Shaheed baghat Singh bhawan in first year and Harsh bhawan in last two years.

Hostel Fee : INR 60000 per year

Admission :

The admission procedure for Btech is through JEE entrance examinations but I was selected under PMSSS quota based on 12th percentage.There are special reservations for many categories and also for specially abled persons.

Faculty :

The faculty members are all well qualified.Most of the Teacher's are Phd holders and have 20-30 years of experience in education area.The teacher student relations are friendly.They are always helpful in every situation.One of the best faculty I have ever seen.

Less crowded college, but not the best college life and placements

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible in 3rd year for internships. However there are not much internship opportunity in the college. Only about 20-30 student get an internship on campus. Average stipend is around 20k.some companies visited are hero, Oyo rooms, mygate, service now etc. average package is around 8.5 lakhs and highest is 36Lakhs. My plans after degree is do to a start-up

In btech after 6th sem you are eligible for campus placements which means just in the start of your last year you are eligible. Not so many companies come here there are a few the highest package offered till now is 15 lpa. Only 55 to 60% students are placed

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I knew a few people in the same course and they liked it and it aligned with my future plans as well. The course curriculum is shifting more towards placement oriented study and focusing more on increasing the placement statistics of the college. The area for improvement is focusing more on problem solving than cramming the theory to get good grades. There are exams every 2 months and the end semester exams are quite hard to crack if not prepared well and they cover up 35% of the total weightage.
