IIITN ~ the arising top technical institute

Dislikes

  • The campus is still in development, so there is not a lot to do in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum is rather modified and pretty updated when compared to industry standard. It does prepare us for the real-world applications and academic pursuit, however it is also essential to put efforts by your ownself as well. The examinations are held in intervals almost every 5 weeks, with 2 being sessional examinations (comparable to Unit Tests) and the last one being the End-semester examination. There are no midsems here.

Internships Opportunities :

The internships offered are for technical roles. The exact details and the companies that provide internships can be found at the IIITN official website, under the placements section. Currently, due to recession, the number of on-campus opportunities have decreased, however, still a great number of on-campus opportunities are provided to students.

Placement Experience :

The students get internship offers(off-campus internships) throughout the college life here. However, on-campus internships are available for students in 4th year for a semester, in order to gain experience. Therefore, this helps students to grow and become better and gain industry knowledge. The names of companies and offers made will be available in the official website of the college. The highest package offered for the year 2023-24 was around Rd. 90,00,000. The on-campus placement percentage is not clear. However, including off-campus placements, nearly 90% of students get placed easily. My plans after is getting an excellent job and further growing in my career.

Fees and Financial Aid :

The fee structure is available both on the website and also on Youtube channels. The institute does not provide any scholarships as such from its own behalf, however, a large number of students are being benefitted from the scholarships provided by the state and central governments through various portals such as the NSP. I am unaware of any campus employment opportunities available to the students.

Campus Life :

The overall experience is rather a positive one. The campus is still in its developing phase and you would not find a lot of pleasure opportunities there, however all the students live in a big 10-storeyed hostel and hostel life is probably one of the best that all the colleges can offer. Furthermore, the coding culture here is excellent and once in contact with the right seniors and mentors, you will do extremely well as well! The sports facilities are still developing, however, we have temporary basketball, cricket and volleyball courts. Furthermore, we have a badminton court in the hostel. The classrooms are equipped with ACs and are similar to you coaching classes.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel facility is avaiable for students. However, there is a limited availability of space and so half of the student population lives in hostels outside the campus. There is a apartment very close the college (nearly 2-3kms), which is easily accessible. The mess food is not exactly delicious, but it is okay and probably better than a lot of other colleges. Each hostel room consists of fans, beds, cupboards, a table-chair set for each person residing in the room. The rooms are not very big or spacious but the hostels are newly built so the facilities are very good overall.

Admission :

The admission process was by first giving JEE Mains examination and undergoing through JOSAA councilling and finally securing a seat in the institute. It was a standard procedure from JOSAA, and all the details were available on the NTA website, which is accessible by everyone. The reservation is benefitted is OBC-NCL category from the central government list. All the details about the mentioned examination and organizations are pretty standard and can be easily be accessed on the internet or Youtube.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Course Structure at SLRTCE is well structured and covering core electronics and computer science concepts, but it could include more industry oriented skills and emerging technology. It provides good foundation for real world applications and higher studies exams held twice per semester and updates to the curriculum and interactive teaching methods would further improve it's relevance and effectiveness.
