Vit Vellore review

Dislikes

  • The size of the campus is huge and though that might seem like a good thing, its stressful and tiring over the time
  • The campus is very crowded and theres always competition for even the little things like taking a shuttle (bus) to move around the campus

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum is well shaped and designed to prepare the students to face the real world industry. It starts (1st semester) from very basic to help you get the idea of college difficulty and continues to get better and better. Enough time is given to prepare for the exams though the frequency of the tests and exams are faster than usually those in schools.

Placement Experience :

Students become eligible for placements mostly in their 5th or 6th semester onwards, though internship opportunities are provided right from the starts, you can apply for them if you have experience in the fields required. The hightest and average package vary every year. This year the avg package was around 15-19 Lpa and the highest was 1.02cr. The placement percentage is close to 100%

Fees and Financial Aid :

Scholarship and financial assistance is provided frequently provided with conditions. The fee structure is fixed and different for everyone based on the category they've got the admission in. Placement percentage is 100%

Campus Life :

The two main big events that take place are the Gravitas( Tech event) and rivera( college fest). Apart from this vit vellore is a highly social and happening place with a new event happening almost everyday. A lot of tech, hackathons, sports and various other social opportunities provided throughout the college life. The library is a three story building covering books from almost every field.

Hostel Facilities :

The quality of hostel during the first year is amazing as you are given hostels by the management and mostly given the newly built blocks. For the following years( 3rd semester onwards) your hostel depends on your cgpa. The mess is decent not too good but not bad either. PG is not given to freshers and you can opt for one only if you have a local guardian living with you.

Admission :

Every science (pcb or pcm) is eligible for the VITEEE entrance exam. It consisits of physics, chemistry and maths/Biology based on your subjects in 12th. The application form may be found on the official website of Vit. The VITEEE Entrance exam takes place only once.

this is where they lie the most , they claim to have placement records of 97% but in reality its just 10%. because of huge student crowd , placing everyone is one big task. the company that comes here for hiring are mostly startups and some lesser known company . branches like mechanical and EEE have it even more difficult time to get placement.the highest package of over college is of 16 lakhs .
