NIAM through my eyes

Course Curriculum Overview :

Agri Business Management has vast number of opportunities. The course cirruiculum covers each & every important aspect related to food business & marketing. The faculty is both inhouse & visiting which gives better exposure & broadens the perspective of the students to a large extent through giving real life case studies to work on. This practical approach is required in the corporate world. I personally would rate 9.5/10 for the course cirriculum. I belong for agriculture backgroound (did BSC in Ag) thats why is was the most ovious choice to opt for PGDM ABM.

Internships Opportunities :

Many companies come for the summer as well as winter internship of live projects in between. Few of them are - EY, LD, Sammunati, ETG, vegrow, adventz, gyan dairy, etc Being from the covid batch I did not receive the stipend as it was wfh internship but it depends from comapny to company- 10k to 40k maybe I dont know the current scenario

Placement Experience :

NIAM has a track record of 100 % placements every year. As of now average package is around 10-11 LPA. Placements are offered in the last semester of the degree programme. 20-30 Companies take part in the placement every year. Big MNCS from agro commodity sector, banking & input , etc visit for the placements. Eg: ADM, LD, EY, Olam,HDFC, ICICI, Coromandel, BAYER, BASF, and other comapnies as well

Fees and Financial Aid :

For the Batch 2020-22 the total fee was appoximately Rs.7 lakhs. Including the boarding and lodging fees. As far as I remember, the hostel fees was around 90k for each semester. One of the scholarships that NIAM offers in EXIM scholarship for toppers - around Rs.2 Lakhs. There is one more scholarship for ST/SC schudents. Multiple internship oppurtunities are there including - summer & winter internships The college has 100 placement & internship record as of now.

Campus Life :

The campus life is great. I guess MBA colleges in general are not much restrictive. Students are free to access the library & convention centre anytime to avail them for study & discussion purposes. Since the students from around the country join NIAM, all cultures & festivals are celebrated in the campus. There are smart classrooms & libraries for the students along with one big auditorim where major events are carried out. Multiple societies are there which you can be part of as per your ineterest.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facility is great especially for the girls. We had single accomodation with AC & coolers , also heater winter season. Nice & clean washrooms attached to each room. Cleaning is done on an alternate basis . We had access to washing machines also for waashing clothes at our convinient time. there is one common room in each hostel for any discussion. there is no need to remt out any room or PG this is a residential programme. you will have to live in the hostels. Food is not really great, thpough we used to get both south indian & north indian food.

Admission :

Admission process was pretty smooth. Eligibility- 10+12+UG (min 60 %)+CAT/CMAT Application form is available on - NIAM's Website Application fees- At our time was round Rs2000/- The forms for application are out in the month of February (After 15th) Reservation benefits for OBC are not much. You have to compete equally. CAT & CMAT are conducted only once in a year (so you have just 1 chance or rather 2 to if you give both the exams) My CMAT percentile was 82% which was enough for me to get a call in the first list of shortlisting only. It was followed by PI where UG based questions are asked & some about the current agri related events to check if you are aware of the scenarios.

Interview Experience :

Yes, after the shortlisting through CMAT percentile. I was called for Interview. However, for our batch there was no written test or group discussion as such. Interview questions were pretty basic like why did you chose agricuture or PGDM both. Wy NIAM and not any other college. Few questions related to agriculture- Agronomy to be specific. There was some discussion around the locust attack, cause & what geography They asked me about the UG courses , specifically PCP (practical Crop Production)...

Placement Experience:

Placements at this college are fairly average, with a moderate number of companies visiting the campus for recruitment each year. in my batch of 230 students around 50 student were successfully placed through campus placements. i was fortunate to secure placement at two reputable organizations. However i was also mentally prepared to explore job opportunities independently.

Remarks:

The faculty of our college is very good and helpful. They help students like a mother help her children and motivate students. The process of admission is very easy like you have to fill a form or RMAP and than as per the % of graduation you will be selected or as per the CAT percentile. This is the only college in Jaipur which provides best education along with practical knowledge at low cost.

Admission:

The topics of GD was so general and relevant to current situation but by this exercise the conductor of GD wants to know your psychology and confidence level. He wants to ensure that you are enough confident and mature to handle a team who have different prospective for a job. PI Is conducted to judge your confidence and your knowledge about your subject. Both were done in front of a panel in college

Admission process was very simple and easy there. I just have to register myself then pay a amount for it. I have to give choices of my selected location for the same college because the college is having lot of branches so according to my rank wise I was allotted my college. I have to pay a amount for admission and then to the college I just have to give my documents plus pay my fee ad then my admission was done.
