Course Curriculum Overview :
The reason I chose Btech was because of my interest in Mathematics and Physics. The Btech course aims at preapring students for the real life applications. In first year , the subjects are same for all branches . It includes Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Data Structure and Algorithms, Programming Language, Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Grpahics etc.. Courses like Yoga, Value education, NSS etc are also added in the course for students intellectual development. The exams are conducted twice a semester which is the mid semester exam and end semester exam. The faculties in NITs are very supportive and are available evrytime for their students.
Internships Opportunities :
TCS:Roles:Software developer,Data Analyst, Stipend varies but is 15,000 per month. Projects: work on real life software development projects, analyze data for different decision. Infosys:Roles:System EngineerIntern, Business Analyst Intern, stipend around18000 per month. Projects: Outcome is more efficient systems or sreamlined business opeartions
Placement Experience :
The placement of the college is really good and is the positive side of the college.The students in 5th semester are eligible for on-campus internships and students in 7th semester are eligible for on-campus placements.Several IT companies and MNCs visit the collge every year including Microsoft, Amazon, JP Morgan, Adbe, Cognizant etc. Microsoft hires 3-4 students every year for the role of Software developer with a package of 55,00,000 per annum which is the hignest package offered by the comapnies in on-campus placement. The highest packages are often offered to CSE,IT students which is about 18,00,000 per annum.The total percentage of students placed is good and is 80% overall.
Fees and Financial Aid :
The fee structure is as follows: 1,40,500 for B.arch first year 85,600 for MCA first year 1,40,500 for Btech first year 85,600 for Mtech first year 30,600 for Phd first year The hostel fee for an entire year would be 34,000 which includes electricity and water charges, caution deposit, mess fee, hostel rent and hostel maintenance
Campus Life :
The campus life in NITs is the dream of every student. The campus has various facilities like a central library, gymnasium, hostel, medical facilities, guest house, sports , all in one stores etc. There are various clubs in the college like Entrepreneurship cell, Innovation cell, Dance club, Music club, Sports club, Photography club, Quiz club, Sanskrithi club and much more. Each club has its own event like Avartan conducted by Technocracy, Samar by Sports club, Avinya by Icell, Eclectika by Sanskrithi club etc. Eclectika is the central Indias biggest cultural fest where students come from all over India. It is usually conducted in the month of February. It includes Cultural night, EDM night and DJ night.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel availability in NIT Raipur is limited. In fisrt year, hostel is allocated on the basis of JEE rank and category. From second year onwards it is based on CGPA. The hostel has facilities like water, electricity, wifi/lan, 4 seated/2 seated rooms, almira , table, chair etc. The mess is open four times a day for breakfast, luch, evening snacks and dinner.The food is very nice which includes various variety of dishes. We also get special food on Sundays and festive days. Apart from that there are many students living in outside hostels, PGs and flats. The rhostel rent is 34,000 for a year.
Admission :
The admission to NITs is through the entrance exam JEE(Joint Entrance Exam) . It is considered as one of the most difficut exam in the world. The eligibility criteria to appear for JEE is that the candidate should be 12th passed with a minimum of 75% in PCM stream. JEE Mains which is the entrance to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs is conducted twice a year whereas JEE ADVANCED which is the entrance exam conducted for the selection to IITs. One can appear for JEE two times in two consecutive years after 12th. After clearing JEE, you will be alloted IITs, NITs, IIITs , or GFTIs based on your ALL INDIA RANK. Usually candidates getting more than 95 percentile in JEE MAINS are more likely to get alloted in the prestigious institutions mentioned above. Reservation is alloted for candidates belonging to different categories such as OBC, SC/ST, PWD, EWS etc. on ranking system as well as college fee.
