Course Curriculum Overview :

I have chosen electrical and computer science engineering in Vit Chennai following my immense interest in electrical field and the applications of computer science.the faculty to students ratio is quite normal as there are on an AVG. 70 student per teacher and the teaching skills of teachers are more or less same only I would give 3.5/5 for that. The exam schedule of Vit is pretty much packed as they conduct 2 exams before the final semester exams, namely CAT1 CAT2 AND FAT.

Class Size : 70Course Fees : INR 400000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid :

In Vit there is a category-wise system as there are different fee Structures for different categories. The fee for every category may vary from year to year but I would like to give you a brief idea category 1 fees is about 2lac. Per year following thay 3lac for category2 4lac for category3 4.5lac for category3 and 5lac for category 5. Excluding the mess fees, mess fees depend on the mess you take and what is your room 2 beds, 4bed etc.

Campus Life :

The campus is pretty much lifeless as they won't support boy-girl interactions much. Also, they are not so good at organising events from time to time. Talking about the Library, it is the best thing in the entire college there are pretty much all the books available in the Library. There are many clubs in vit both technical as well as non-technical.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facility is great. Rooms are also spacious and the washroom facilities are also good.Talking about the food , the quality of food does surprise me as I was expecting low it Is on the better side.

Hostel Fee : INR 200000 per year

Admission :

First you have to fill up the form for viteee exam and by giving that you can come to vit, there is no such cutoff as such you have to fill up the preferences in counselling round according to your rank.

this is where they lie the most , they claim to have placement records of 97% but in reality its just 10%. because of huge student crowd , placing everyone is one big task. the company that comes here for hiring are mostly startups and some lesser known company . branches like mechanical and EEE have it even more difficult time to get placement.the highest package of over college is of 16 lakhs .

Placement Experience:

At VIT Chennai, students become eligible for campus placements starting from their 6th semester, with placement training beginning in the 5th semester. Top companies or recruiters include Amazon, Microsoft, Deloitte, Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, PayPal, Bosch, Accenture, and Intel, among others. In 2023, over 900 companies participated across VIT campuses, making more than 12,000 offers. The highest package offered was ?1.02 crore per annum by a global recruiter, while the average package for core placements ranged between ?6-7 LPA, with Super Dream offers exceeding ?25 LPA and Dream offers ranging from ?10-15 LPA. Around 90% of eligible students get placed, with profiles offered in software development, consulting, analytics, and core engineering. After completing the degree, students often pursue roles in top companies, higher studies, or entrepreneurial ventures.
