Course Curriculum Overview :
Following my passion, I chose electrical engineering. Did my diploma from a very reputed college Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) Mumbai. And for graduation went to the Lokmanya Tilak college of engineering. The faculty of the electrical department is very good at teaching and helpful but there are also some teachers who are very rude and strict but in the end, it is for the students' good only. Nearly every faculty is a PhD holder and some are persuing PhDs. There are two unit tests between 2-3 months and one final semester exam from University. If studied properly you can pass the exam very easily.
Internships Opportunities :
Till now no paid internships are offered to students. But the big companies like MSEB, Indian Railways, Siemens take the students for internships by the letter given by the college. Faculty is very motivated for creating new projects and forward them to various college-level competition
Placement Experience :
From semester 5 which is the third year the practice for campus interviews started. These are taken by the placement cell of the college. The average package offered is 5-6 LPA. Around 30-40% of students get placed every year.
Fees and Financial Aid :
This year the fee was around 137000 rs. If eligible the students can apply for the scholarship offered by the Maharashtra government through the MahaDBT site. For open-category students, the EBC scholarship is there which relieves 50% of tuition fees. The placement cells work very hard to train the students about the interview and regularly take mock tests. On average 30-40% of students are easily placed every year.
Campus Life :
This college cannot be that good in academics but is very good for life at campus, events and fests The annual fest of this college is Zephyr which includes Technical, Cultural and Sports events. This event is organised by the student council with the permission of the college authority and on college funding. The availability of syllabus books as well as other informative books is in the library. Library offers a place to study, surf on the internet and carry books home.
Admission :
The admission process was through the Cap admission process. I took the admission in my direct second year as I completed my diploma in electrical engineering. Cut-off was nearly 80-83% Reservation seats are available for caste students. The concession in the fees is given on displaying all the verified documents through scholarships. No EWS seats are reserved for open category students as it is a minority college because of that many of the students have to pay full fees and after then need to apply for scholarships
