IIIT Kottayam

Remarks :

Only a few colleges in India offer courses in information technology, cyber security, artificial intelligence, and data science. IIIT Kottayam is a well-known educational institution that has been designated as an Institute of National Importance by the Ministry of Education. So I chose IIIT Kottayam for my M.tech programme because the admissions process is likewise quick and straightforward. Candidate must pass the IIIT Kottayam written admission exam and have a minimum of 60% in graduation in the relevant stream, followed by the PI round.

Course Curriculum Overview :

IIIT Kottayam's curriculum is based on the most recent and current industrial innovations. Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, data structures, web development, and other topics are emphasised in the curriculum. The first year of the curriculum focuses mostly on theoretical knowledge and aids in understanding the importance of AI technology, while the second year focuses on practical research work as well as the implementation and impact of AI technology in real-world scenarios. Second-year students are mostly concerned in research. The college's faculty is highly qualified and professional. The college's faculty are highly qualified, with the majority having research and industrial experience. Faculty members are available to assist students in identifying their deficiencies and motivating them in their academic and non-academic pursuits.

Placement Experience :

The college's placement record is excellent. The placement cell works extremely hard and is able to attract industry experts for placement. During the placement drive, companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Infosys, Oracle, Google, and Apple come to campus. Our batch's highest package was 26 LPA, while the average package was roughly 8 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid :

The course fee is not very expensive. It is affordable and I paid in one go for my course. The whole fees for the course was around 1.4 Lakhs. Merit-based scholarships are also available at the college. Scholarships are available for SC/ST/PD students at the college. There is also the option of taking out a student loan. If you are taking out an education loan, the admissions department will assist and guide you. You can learn more about the scholarship programme by visiting the college's official website or by visiting the campus.

Campus Life :

The campus is large and well-lit, and it is bordered by trees. DHRUVA is the college's yearly festival, and small festivals are held on a monthly basis during India's festive season. GYM, Auditorium, Open Air Auditorium, ATM, Football, Cricket, and a pitch are just some of the amenities accessible at the campus. The college seniors are extremely pleasant and cooperative. The college's cultural club is also busy, allowing students to participate in a variety of events. The group operates on a rotational basis, with each student getting a turn to be a member of the cultural club and oversee college events.

Placement Experience:

In first semester so far no placement for structural engineering had came. Basically for Mtech placement is less compared to Btech. And especially for civil Engineering streams it's too less. College is saying many companies will visit in coming days. In Btech in other streams like CS,EEE most of them are placed when it comes to civil it's less to get placed in core companies. In Mtech only a few get placed in core companies. My aim is to get placed in any company. Preference is a core company but it's ok if get any other companies also

The only flaw of our college is that the college premises is too small. However the college management is trying to expand it with the help of government. The positives of our college are many and placement record is the prominent one among them.
