Remarks :

The eligibility of the course is based on the merits of the students. All students who have passed higher secondary examination or equivalent with more than 50 percent in PCM subjects and passed the KEAM entrance examination are eligible for applying for the course. The selection criteria are based on the merit of the students. 50% of seats are filled by the college management directly considering the merit of the students in the higher secondary examination. 50% of seats are filled by the CEE through a centralised allotment process and is based on the ranks of the students in the Keam entrance examination. Merit quota seats are eligible for reservation benefits as per government reservation policies but the management quota seats do not provide any such benefits. The application for admission can be filled out directly from the college website.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Computer science and Engineering branch provides great career opportunities. So it is one of the best option for students. The college curriculum is designed such that it provides great scientific knowledge to the students. All the faculties in the college are supportive and caring. They all have high qualification and most of them completed their post graduate and PhD from NIT and IIT. The teaching method is a somewhat tested book oriented however the portions taught are very clear. The end semester examination is conducted at the end of each semester by the University and the question paper is somewhat though. College conduct series test with the time gap of two months. This question paper is easy to pass with basic understanding about the subject. The overall pass percentage of the college is about 50%.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship opportunities are available for everyone in the college and student starts getting internship from the third semester itself. The college has a dedicated department for providing internship opportunities to the students. They work in connection with the top companies to provide internships to students. The roles offered to the students are that of assistant post and are provided with a stipend. Major companies providing internships in the college are Wipro, Infosys etc. This internship provides a great opportunity for the students to boost their careers. Internships provide great industry knowledge and exposure to the students. This will help the students to get jobs easily in reputed companies and the companies are willing to hire students with industrial knowledge. So the internships provide big opportunities for the students. On average more than 80 percent of students get at least one internship opportunity.

Placement Experience :

College offers great opportunities for those seeking jobs through campus interviews. Placement activities in the college begin from the 7th semester and continue till the 8th semester. Special placement training are provided in the college from the first semester itself and make students confident to face interview. A large number of reputed companies including Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, UST Global etc conduct placement activities in the college. The average salary package offered is about 3.6 LPA. The highest package offered was 15 LPA and was secured by the computer science branch. The computer science and engineering branch get a huge number of placements every year with more than 90% of students getting placements. So considering the placement opportunities college provides. This is the best college in Kerala.

Fees and Financial Aid :

The general fees structure is 37k per semester. There are many scholarships for students. If you have an 80% of mark for PCM in higher secondary examination or a 75 percentage mark in PCM in CBSE or if you have the Keam rank between 22k and 24k you are eligible for category4 scholarship which means your course fees now will be 32500. Then for category 3 85 percentage for PCM in higher secondary examination or 80% of PCM in CBSE now your course fee will be 27500. Many more scholarships are available for the students. Students who secure more than 95% in higher secondary examination or less than10k rank in the Keam entrance examination is given a full fee waiver. Based on the merit of the students in the higher secondary examination they give many more scholarships. The college special cell for facilitating educational loans to students.

Campus Life :

College gives more importance to academics so the social life is pretty much Dell. The college had auto shows and department fest a few years back but the decision to stop all that. Now the college offers a technical fest each year. Sports day is held each year which have almost no importance whatsoever. The college departments offer technical groups such as IEEE, ASM etc. The boot camp is pretty much active and offers good events once in a while. The college has a Music club and Jesus youth program. The library is one of the best you can get and it is one of the greatest positives of the college. The library has a total collection of all the science textbooks and the ebooks section is also available. The classrooms are very well maintained and very well equipped with high tech facilities. The college also has two units of NSS and one unit of NCC.

CUSAT Cochin campus- best college life you can get in kerala

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from semester 6. Many of the largest companies such as Cisco, IBM, Wipro etc come for placements. The largest package was 40 LPA from IT department and average package is 6 LPA. Last year's batch had placement percentage of 90%. My future plans are to try my best for placements, no plans for suture studies as of now.

My College Life at FISAT

Placement Experience:

Mostly the students get prepared for placements in the third year. Placement training is usually started in the mid of the third year. According to the passed out students and our seniors, the institution has enough good placements compared to other private institutions. The students get placed in MNCs like IBM, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, SAP, Wipro, CTS, IBS, UST Global, Government and Public Sector companies like BARC, ONGC, Powergrid, Delhi Metro and commercial banks like Federal Bank, South Indian Bank, Core Engineering companies like MRF, Apollo Tyres, Sobha, Procsys, Kalkitech etc speaks volumes about the professional excellence of students.The major activities of the Placement and Training Cell include coordinating the Campus placement activities of the college Conducting regular training for improving the soft-skills and conducting regular tests, GD`s and Mock Interviews. The major thrust area of the placement cell is training programs. Every student undergoes at least 150 hours of training programs which is spread across the years of study. They are trained by the best in the industry. Career guidance and placement orientation is ensured through sessions organised in-house and support from experts from outside. Guidance on how to prepare for various competitive exams like GATE, CAT, MAT, GRE, UPSC, PG entrance examinations etc. are also provided. Despite the economic uncertainties and industry challenges, the Class of 2024 achieved remarkable success in campus recruitment. A total of 78 students secured packages of 7LPA or more, with 484 offers from 76 companies. The highest package reached 15LPA, while the average package stood at a respectable 5.7LPA. Notable recruiters included TCS, CTS, SAP, Tataelxsi, People10, SOTI, UST, and Qburst. Core companies like Cadence, Schneider, Kalkitech, Procsys, Aarbee Structures, RDC, Saint Gobain, Dalmia, Walkaroo OEN, and Tejas Networks also hired students.
