Remarks :
To get into ANITS, I've attempted the EAMCET exam, which is the common entrance test of Andhra Pradesh for B.Tech and medical courses. It consists of 160 questions of 1 mark each, taken from subjects maths, physics, chemistry. Caste reservations are present in this exam. The minimum age to attempt this exam is 17 years and to get admission to this college, you need a score above 70 if you are an OBC candidate, a score above 40 if you're an SC/ST candidate, and 90 above if you're an OC candidate. On the counseling day, you'll be asked to submit all of your educational certificates and you should pay the building fund valid for 1 year.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose CSE because I'm a tech geek and the course syllabus helps the students become industry-ready. The faculty-student ratio is nearly 1:12. A classroom consists of almost 70 students. Faculty are well qualified, some of them being ex - IIT, NIT professors, they use a vivid blend of digital and traditional methods for effective teaching. Semester exams are conducted every 4 months, while mid-exams are conducted every 1 and a half months. Exams in this college are extremely difficult to pass.
Internships Opportunities :
Internship opportunities are quite low at ANITS. You have to try for them by yourself outside the college. Even industry tours are not encouraged. College provides internship opportunities in your ultimate or penultimate semester, which are not of good use.
Placement Experience :
Placements of ANITS are best in the city. Students are made eligible for placements from their 6th semester itself. Reputed companies like Amazon, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Accenture visit this college for bulk recruitments. The highest package offered this year was by Amazon (29 LPA) for the SDE profile. The average package received at ANITS is 3 LPA. Almost 60% of the students were placed this year. I plan to get a job through placements and work for 2 years and later apply for GATE to do my M.Tech.
Fees and Financial Aid :
Fees are very high when compared to other colleges in Vizag. The fee is around Rs. 90,000 per year, so it amounts to Rs. 3,60,000 But if you're a resident of Andhra Pradesh, you can get a chance to avail of complete fees reimbursement, provided you perform well in EAMCET and of less yearly income. In such a case, you only need to pay the building fund, which is Rs. 18,000 per year. A scholarship called 'Jagananna Vidya Deevena' is also provided to these students, which is worth Rs. 10,000.
Campus Life :
ANITS conducts yearly fests in the months of February, March. The number of fests conducted are extremely low, the are many clubs which are inactive and are only present for name sake. The college library is the best asset of this college. There's nothing you cannot find here, it's well equipped with all kinds of books and journals. The classrooms are spacious and always clean. Infrastructure is of very high level in this college. The college runs NSS and Together We Can club for social services. Sports and extracurricular are a letdown at ANITS and are not much encouraged.
Hostel Facilities :
As a fresher, I joined the college hostel, where everything was of extremely low quality. The fee was around Rs. 60,000. The food was bad and even WiFI wasn't available. The college hostel is the best in terms of security. In the second year of my college life, I shifted to Sai Balaji Hostel, which is around 300 m from this college, where the food quality and facilities are better.
Other Applied Colleges
Lovely Professional University | B. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering
It's too far away from my city and the expenses are high, also the hostel food is stale
