Remarks :
IIIT being an institute of National importance, specialized in IT sector as it has only CSE and ECE branches. There is no need to study additional subjects such as physics, chemistry, etc. and students can directly focus on the chosen branch. Updated curriculum and computer science being a fast growing industry.
Course Curriculum Overview :
We have a class of forty five students with around 6-7 subjects every semester. Each subject is taught by different faculty members and labs are continuously held. The teaching method is good, the faculties are all P.hd and possess specialties in their own subjects. The class is taught by projection method and doubts are cleared afterwards. The schedule of exams and classes is decided in the starting of the year and is strictly followed. Mostly the term exam syllabus is from the topics taught in class, so the exams are easy if you have studied carefully.
Placement Experience :
From 7th semester the students are eligible to be placed. Due to our college being a new college there were more off campus placements than on-campus. The highest package received was around 24 lacs per annum but it was off-campus placement.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The annual tuition fees is around 2.2 lacs which is quite high. The hostel fees and other accommodation costs are not included in this sum. The scholarship is provided by the state governments to whichever state the student belongs.
Campus Life :
Two fests are held in the campus every year. TantraFiesta as the technical fest and Abhivyakti for cultural fest. Tantrafiesta is conducted in October and Abhivyakti is conducted in the January month. Both fests are organized by students under the mentorship of faculty members ensuring the participation of majority of students. Books and journals are available but not in the required quantity. Sometimes one book has to be shared among 2-3 students. Sports event is held once a year as an inter-IIIT contest among juniors and seniors. Many groups and clubs are present but the attendance level is low in all except the coding club.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes. The hostel was on a rented site of BSNL so the facilities were not good. Due to the shortage of rooms, 4 students had to share one room which was quite annoying. The rent was also quite high at approx. 1.2 lacs per annum. The menu was decided by the mess committee from our second year, so it was fine as there were some good dishes and snacks included.
Admission :
JEE, 2018
