Remarks :
The college is a developing college it might not be a big name such as nit or IIT but still it's good in its own way as it has taught me a lot made me a more confident person and helped me to face the world head on.
Entrance Preview :
I took the exam of UIIT entrance straight away and then i scored 129 in it,i did not opt for any other exam as such because it was located in my home town only and further it was a government institute i had a nag for cse since my high school days and since the cost of batch is quite high in private colleges hence it was a good deal to study from UIIT shimla in cse trade further i also have a chance to be a freelancer.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is really good as such and is very professional and teaches you how to be a good engineer apart that it also inculcates within you the ability to face the cooperate sector the courses that are offered here are cse and information technology and you get the seats in each of them according to the marks scored in entrance test.
Internships Opportunities :
The collage provides internship companies like wipro click labs come to our campus for providing internship and sometimes we also need go to off campus for taking internship too the overall experience is very good and the minimum package is 3.1 lakhs most of the students get placed apart from the ones who are interested in pursuing some other feilds.
Placement Experience :
The placements are good and its a developing college hence most companies which pay a larger package are not yet coming here but still companies like wipro click labs plus we people go for campus for placements and get placed there as well the package here is minimum of 3.1 lakhs and its good since we get a lot of work experience in places such as bangaluru.
College Events :
Their are 2 main events that happen in an year one is annual sports meet and another is the techno cultural fest known as utkarsh annual sports meet happens in odd sems and cultural fest in even sem in between the year a lot of other events also take place such as debates and declamations.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Yes fee structure is feasible since its a government college the each sem comes to be around 80k approximate and is very much cheap as compared to other colleges plus students who are meritorious are given scholarships such as complete tuition fee waivier.
Fees and Financial Aid :
Yes scholarship is given to meritorious students at time of admission to those candidates who have scored 90%+ in 12th grade which include complete tuition fee waiver.
Campus Life :
Gender ratio is 2:5 and mostly people are hindu and majority of people are straight and most a from a upper middle class background and people here believe in equality the main sports are football and cricket and students participate at state and zonal level debates take place here and brainstorming sessions so that students are made ready to face the corporate sector.
Hostel Facilities :
We don't have hostels we have to live in pg's since they are under construction the pg's around the place are highly reasonable and affordable and good to live in the food is good around the place and students can also take their own rooms and live their.
Alumni/Alumna :
Since seniors and juniors share a good bond with each other over here hence the alumni is visit us when ever they have a chance since they have a busy routine as well rest they guide us phone regarding what all steps we need to take in order to pursue a good carrier.
Exam Structure :
We have semester system entire sem is of 1300 marks 600 for written each paper of 100 marks each with min passing marks 40 and 700 for labs and internals which include seminars quizzes and assignments we have 2 periodicals in between the semester which count for internals the exams last for 12 to 15 days all together.
Admission :
A written test of 200 marks consisting of physics maths english and information technology questions you just need to focus on maths and physics of higher secondary level plus have a good hand over the information technology part which comprises of basic knowledge of computers the notification comes out in april and exam takes place in june the centres are chandigarh dharamshala and shimla.
Faculty :
The faculty is highly learned and experienced some of them are permanent and some are guest ones and they are on contractual basis the faculty is interested and regular classes take place everyday with 6 day week and students are required to be present in collage in order to have a minimum percentage of 75 in context to attendance the faculty here is having a minimum qualification of Ph.D in case of permanent ones.
