Remarks :

I always carry good memories about my college in the final year I stood first in the University for which the college felicitated me in the next year's annual day.

Entrance Preview :

I was admitted into the college based on my marks in the pre university examination, in which I passed with first class.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curricular covered the entire field of accounting, commerce, audit and related subjects like Economics, Commercial Geography, Mercantile Law, Statistics and Industrial Organisation. We had a paper on General English and Commercial English.

Internships Opportunities :

At that time there was no system of campus interview. The faculty used to provide us necessary information about various opportunities on completion of the Course. There was no stipend offered. Scholarship was provided based on merit.

Placement Experience :

After completion of B.Com, the College offered post graduation in Commerce(M.Com) There was opportunity to pursue either Chartered Accountancy or seek a banking job by appearing for the recruitment test.

College Events :

The College is known for Sports and Cultural activities. The College had a very strong Cricket, hockey, food ball and basket ball, and also had a very strong team of athletes. Many cultural programmes were conducted in the College and hosel.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fees structure was very nominal we used to pay the tuition fee about Rs.500/- per half year the hostel expenses were also very less it was based on dividing system.

Fees and Financial Aid :

Scholarship was provided by the government based on the student's performance in the examination and the community to which he belonged.

Campus Life :

Good facilities were available for sports. Sports trainers separately for each game and atheletics were available the college took special interest in grooming talented sports persons many students of the college represented in the university state and national levels.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facilities were reasonably good each room of about 150 sq. ft. used to accomodate 4 students students were provided with tables, chairs etc. Recreation rooms with library and in door games were available there separate mess for veg and non veg.

Alumni/Alumna :

The seniors always guided us i do remember even a single event of ragging in the campus though we do not have a strong alumni network, we have regular contacts.

Exam Structure :

There was no semester system of Examination in those days. There was examination for language and ancillary papers like Economics in the end of Second year. For all the main papers we had to take the examination only at the end of the third year. What we learnt in the first year, we were tested in the end of third year. In my opinion it was a good system, in that if you are able to remember for 3 years, you can remember the subject for the rest of your life.

Faculty :

The standard of faculty was of very high. Professors were highly knowledgeable and dedicated. They took extra pain in making the students comfortable. The engaged external faculty for teaching auditing (a Chartered Accountant) and a lawyer for teaching Mercantile Law.

There are actually a lot of company placements for many departments which will provide high salary companies. As acca students you will be mainly concentrating on getting the acca papers cleared rather than placements.
