Remarks :
Overall college experience is amazing. Got the opportunity to grow, learn, make some good friends. Moreover, learnt some great life lessons here. The campus is huge and very beautiful. The placements are good and the environment is nice
Course Curriculum Overview :
For my branch, i.e. electronics and communication engineering, the course curriculum is very well designed, all the topics that are must, are included. Also, our branch has a very vast course, but our college has nicely divided into 6 semesters, and 2 semesters are common for all branches, (the first 2) total being 8 semesters. Also, the examination structure is well defined. In each semester, there is a set of mini tests, mid sem and end sem examinations. For odd sem, we have end term exams in the month of November, and for the even sem, we have end term exams in the month of April followed by sem break.
Placement Experience :
So the job opportunities in CSE and ECE branches are good, but frankly speaking I don't think it's good in other branches. For CSE branch, it's 100 percent, in fact many students have multiple jobs, and average package is also very nice of about 8 LPA. In our branch also, the job opportunities are pretty good, around 96%, with decent average package of about 6-7 LPA. Internship opportunities are also good for the pre final year students.
College Events :
We have a technical fest called TECHNOSEARCH every year, in the odd semester where we have all the technical workshops, guest lectures, and also some cultural eves. Then we have a grand Cultural fest in the even semester, called MAFFICK, where we have dance, singing and ramp walk competitions, and celeb nights as well. Other that these two fests where the footfall is around 10k people, we have a Hindi fest named Turyanaad and 2 Literary fests, named Illuminati and Ripple.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Being an institution of national importance, it's centrally funded. So the fees structure is feasible. It was highly subsidized earlier. Before my admission in 2016, annual fees for a day scholar (excluding hostel and mess fees) was 64k. But from our batch, it was raised to 1.28 LPA ( for a day scholar).
Fees and Financial Aid :
I don't have much info as I have not opted for any scholarships. But I have a friend who comes from the minority section and thus gets benefits form the college in terms of reduction in fees. The scholarship is just for the economically backward section or minorities.
Campus Life :
Our sports complex is really good. We have a great gymnasium, a huge cricket ground, table tennis courts, badminton Courts and the sports facilities are up to the mark. The labs in our department are above average.
Hostel Facilities :
I'm a day scholar. So I don't have much info, but as far as I know from my hosteler friends, the rooms are okayish, food is above average. In first year, there's a sharing of 2-3 people. Second third year students have a double sharing and final year students have single occupancy rooms. The charges are quite nominal 2-3k for 1 sem.
Alumni/Alumna :
The seniors are really helpful and we have a very strong alumni association. They are doing good in their lives as well as are really helpful in guiding us. They keep coming for guest lectures and are there to help always.
Admission :
My college is a national institute of technology. So like every other NITs and IITs, it's admission is conducted online by JOSAA based on all India ranks in JEE MAIN examination. During our admission, it was based on a combined score of JEE MAIN examination, and 12th board examination, 40% 12th board score, and 60% JEE score. After the AIRs are out, the counseling process started and there were several rounds having options of slide and float a particular branch in a particular college. My all India rank general category was 9410, my I got Electronics and communication engineering branch for this rank in my home state quota. So overall the counseling process is very fair and its online so is quite authentic.
Faculty :
Our faculties, particularly in our department are very experienced. Well, honestly there are some faculties who don't have that much knowledge and interest but most of them are really good. There are some contract faculties also who don't have much experience but are knowledgeable so it's a good blend of knowledge and experience.
