Remarks :
The only negative remark is the expenditure. One must be financially well off to make use of everything the college offers. But it will all be worth the money spent. Other than that everything is positive. Also the parking facilities are less in this campus.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is great and made easy for students. Up-to-date on the Industry and out dated papers are replaced every year with new ones. Also software training such as CATIA, AutoCad are also provided. There are 3 Cycle Tests every semester which account for 40 Internal Marks and 10 Internal Marks are based on assignments. Final exams are for 50 Marks. One need to score 50+ with 50 Internals and 50 externals combined to clear the paper.
Placement Experience :
Placements and Job Opportunities are very good. But it depends on the department one is in. It has been around 2 months for me since the placements started. For CSE and IT students around 120 companies visited the campus so far and almost 80% of the 5K students got placed. On the otherhand for mechanical only a handful of companies visited and max of 1 student is recruited in some companies. So they trained us for the competition in IT companies and I manged to get an offer from TCS and CTS.
College Events :
My college celebrates all kinds of events such as department fests, technical fests, cultural fests etc. One of the most renowned fest of the college is Srm Stringz. It is a national level cultural event. Also every year Onam, Diwali, Pongal etc are celebrated and students of every religion are given the freedom to celebrate their festivals inside the campus.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
For me this fee structure is a bit expensive. The tuition fee is ?1,95,000 and book fee is ?15,000. Other than that there is career development fees which is ?15,000 - ?20,000. In SRM without money you can't do anything. Everything that is offered here, that is of interest to you needa a great sum of money.
Fees and Financial Aid :
Scholarship is given to students who scored good marks in their class 10 & 12 and students who scored the top ranks in SRM - JEE. They also provided a full year tuition fee waiver for students who are coming from areas that are affected in Gaja Cyclone in Tamil Nadu.
Campus Life :
There are tons of extra curricular activities of you are interested but most of them requires money as I said. Options for sports are very less in this campus but are good in the main campus. Labs are good although they still use Windows XP
Alumni/Alumna :
Seniors are very helpful. They run almost all the events in SRM and take in juniors and train them to take over once they were passed out. Seniors are very friendly and the college is 100% Ragging free. The senior junior relationship is hood and they call u you as mama machan and ask you to call them the same.
Admission :
Attended Entrance Exam. Counselling was done based the rank secured in Entrance Exam (SRM-JEE). The course is offered according to availability on the day of counselling. Entrance was based on class 11 & 12 syllabus and is a bit easy actually. The entrance exam fee is 1000 INR
Faculty :
Very Friendly, great knowledge and very dedicative. They show a great passion towards students and help us in every way. They even help us deal with our personal issues. They are unbelievably supportive of the students.
