Remarks :
Overall the college is good and is growing at an exponential rate. In the next 5 years this college would be one of the best in the country as the level of facilities and placements they are providing and growing every year will make it different from other colleges.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The overall course curriculum was nicely built and it was easy as a fresher to understand which subjects I will be studying in the present year as well as the upcoming years. The course duration was 4 years. Exam structure was divided into 3 exams out of which 2 were mid terms and 1 was end term exam. The mid term exams were equally important in weightage as compared to the end term exam. During my time at the college there were open book exams and they had there own level of difficulty. Not that easy that one would score good marks without studying. Overall exam structure was well defined and properly managed.
Placement Experience :
Placements and job oppurtunities in Manipal University is really good. As a student of the fifth graduating batch, the level and amount of companies we had visiting were good. On an average I would say 4.5 L per annum package was acquired by every student. We had Microsoft, Dell, IBM etc. visiting for placements. I was placed in IBM. But didn’t go for it as I wanted to join the armed force. Overall the placements were really good and will only get better in the near future. No our college didn’t provide internships.
College Events :
There were various events which held every year. There were events related to sports, technical, literature and cultural. Many fests were also celebrated like the Techfest, cultural fest etc. Overall Manipal university is a good place for studying as well as extra curriculum activities.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
I would say it’s expensive but at the same time, they are providing some great facilities. The classrooms are well designed and are really good. There are many hangout spots like the canteen or the food court. In the campus we had sports facilities as well.
Fees and Financial Aid :
Yes, there was a scholarship program. If one got under 3000 rank then 10% scholarship was there. The college also helped for the loan facility and made the overall experience worth while. But we didn’t avail any loan facility provided by the college as my father already had decided and planned for the loan from some other bank.
Campus Life :
There are various number of labs in the campus. Be it computer lab or chemistry or physics, all were too good and well organised. Sports facility is one of the best in manipal. There was badminton court, basketball court and also football ground and cricket ground as well. The overall facilities provided by the university were too good.
Alumni/Alumna :
The alumini network is also good in manipal university. Every year there is an aluminus meeting and all the students get to meet with their seniors and get experience from them. Overall manipal is growing at a good pace and soon the alumini network will get stronger and stronger. Yes, it was helpful.
Admission :
The Manipal Group conducts an entrance exam every year for all the students who wants to pursue engineering from Manipal University or Institute of Technology. The exam conducted is named as MUOET. I got admission through the MUOET exam. The exam had 200 questions and no negative marking. After the exam, there itself, result was known. Then, with my resul, I applied for the counselling in Manipal University for the branch Computer Science. The admission process was simple and didn’t get any problems in getting admission.
Faculty :
We had pretty decent faculty. They were able to solve out doubts and did make our studies easy. But again, faculty plays an important role in the concept building which I think was decent enough. There were young as well as senior teachers who had their own experience as a teacher. The overall faculty was quiet good.
