What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“A leader needs to fulfil the managerial goal”

Leadership is about motivating and influencing the people towards the desired goal. Being a principal, I would like to say that leader also should be flexible and ready to learn, adjust, adopt with new situations, and demands. A leader takes care of all employees and students at the same time.

How do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your school?

“To make the students globally competent”

I have to take care of the theory and practical plans for the organization which has to go through a time slot. Our students are competent and conscientious products. When our students are employed, they give their 100% and it reveals the standard of the education and training they have received. So my strategy is to basically focus on comprehensive training of my students so that they learn and work anywhere in the country.

How does the curriculum of Nandvandan College of Nursing ensure the best practice of industry?

“The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects deemed important”

At our college, a very strict curriculum is provided by the Indian Nursing council. The curriculum focuses on theory as well as the practical skills. The curriculum is designed solely for the development of a student’s personality as we provide the opportunity to learn in various areas as per the subjects like medical, surgical, neurological, gynaecological mental health etc.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the Institute and the students are?

“To be an example for my students to follow”

My role and responsibilities towards my institute are same as of the head of the family. I am a role model for my students as always the teachers are. I must possess the knowledge, values and the qualities like dignity, sympathy, empathy, soberness that I would like to inculcate in my students. I think the pot should be filled up first which we tend to pour from.

What do you think should be the institute’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“Get the due exposure to the students”

Top priority should be towards enhancing the exposure and expertise of students in various clinical areas. We aim at having national and international collaboration with institutes of high repute. This way, our students will get the chance to work in various organizations globally.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for Nandvandan College of Nursing specifically?

“Being a student’s first choice among a pool of options”

At the beginning, there were very fewer challenges for an institute. Slowly different bodies emerged to control the educational affiliation program. Earlier fewer institutes were there. Now the biggest challenge is a scarcity of student’s admission due to more colleges. Admission of the student is a big challenge as the programs are more.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Nothing can beat you if you are ready to work”

I would like to suggest to current youth that though more competition and challenges are there but there are a lot of opportunities are also waiting for you. Just recognize them and grab it. Keep learning, be focused, conscious, and stay positive.
