- The School of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia was established in 1989. The School offers engineering academic qualifications of postgraduate studies by research in various fields of Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering, leading to the Degree of M.Sc. and Ph.D. These programmes are offered either on a full-time or part-time basis.
- The research programmes at the school specialize in the areas of Bio-Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Thermo-fluids, Energy, Manufacturing Technology, Manufacturing System & Automation, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Advanced Composites Materials & Processing, and Nanofabrication & Functional Materials.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
Bachelor's degree with CGPA of at least 2.75 / 4.00; or CGPA between 2.50 - 2.74 with the following additional conditions: or
- Research experience for at least one year; or
- Work experience in the related field for at least one year; or
- At least one (1) academic publication in the relevant field; or
- Grade B for major/elective courses; grade B+ for a final year project
CGPA between 2.00 - 2.49 (Bachelor's Degree with Honours) with the following additional conditions: or
- Research experience for at least five (5) years; or
- Work experience in the related field for at least five (5) years; AND
- At least one (1) academic publication in the relevant field; or
- Grade B for major/elective courses; or
- Grade B+ for a final year project
Indian Student Eligibility:
- The student has graduated with a bachelor's degree in relevant discipline.
Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE scores.
