- Geoinformatics is the science of systematically collecting, evaluating and presenting location-related information in order to extract knowledge from it. The focus is on the information in the form of geological and geophysical data. Three-dimensional digital models of geological bodies are constructed as a prerequisite for the use of simulations or statistical methods.
- Suitable data models, database schemas and software are developed for this. The methods are used, among other things, in deposit exploration and mining planning, in environmental monitoring and disaster protection, and in the exploration of renewable energies.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- Knowledge of German: A1 when applying, DSH-2 for studying.
- Alternatives to the DSH exam: You do not have to take the DSH exam if you can show one of the following certificates:
- "German Language Diploma" of the Minister of Education Conference - Level II (DSD II).
- Passed the "Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung" (ZOP) of the Goethe Institute.
- "Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom" or "Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom".
- Test "German as a foreign language" (Test DaF), level 4 in all areas.
- Passed German part of the assessment test.
