In the "Educational Science" bachelor's degree, taking into account the changes and demands of the professional world, students acquire specialist knowledge, skills, and methods that enable them to carry out scientific work, to critically classify scientific findings, and to act professionally at an academic level in extracurricular educational fields. There are no tuition fees at the University of Duisburg-Essen. All students are, however, subject to a student body and social contribution fee per semester.
The social and student body contribution for the winter semester 2021 amounts to a total of $387.43. However, the social and student body contribution for the summer and winter semesters of 2021 amounts to a total of $774.86 per year.
The amount is made up as follows:
- Mobility contribution (ticket): $253.41, of which $183.94 for the VRR semester ticket and $69.47for the NRW ticket
- Social contribution for the Studierendenwerk: $114.98
- Student body fee: $19.04.
The social and student body contribution is not to be paid before enrollment! Students will be informed about the payment modalities upon registration.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- General university entrance qualification, subject-specific university entrance qualification (no technical college entrance qualification) or a certificate recognized as equivalent by law or by the responsible body.
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following requirements:
- Educational residents (people who have obtained their higher education entrance qualification in Germany or at a German school abroad) do not require any special proof of German language skills.
- Citizens of a country outside the EU with a foreign university entrance qualification must pass the "German language test for university entrance" (DSH 2 level) or the TestDaF (TDN 4) before starting their studies.
- No other language skills are required, but knowledge of English is recommended.
International students hailing from non-English speaking countries can prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
