SOP for MBA in Germany: Sample

I am a hardworking commerce graduate currently working as a business associate at a pharmaceutical sales company based in India. I am excited to be applying for the International Business, MBA program at your esteemed institute- the Munich Business School.

From my school days itself, I had an inclination towards the business-related courses in my school curriculum. My mother has been a constant source of inspiration and encouragement to me, having observed her build a successful career while raising two daughters, and I was determined to follow in her footsteps. I graduated high school with 95% marks and was able to get admission into the B.Comm program at Delhi University, a top institute for commerce studies in India.

My college days were extremely enriching, both academically and practically. I had the privilege of learning from some of the best minds in the business world. Besides theoretical studies, we were encouraged to learn from real-world case studies and field research findings. A few of the subjects we learnt included business organization and management, financial accounting, company law, tax law, auditing and corporate governance. During our final year of study, I secured a six-month internship opportunity at a local distribution firm as a business intern.

This opportunity gave me my first exposure into the day to day responsibilities of a business graduate in the professional world. I was assigned as a personal intern to the delivery manager of the unit and learnt valuable skills in managing the shipping and packaging of products while working under him. Based on my experience at the firm I also prepared a report on Increasing Efficiency in the Workplace which studied effective measures which can be taken to increase the overall work output of employees. This report was published in the April 2018 issue of the International Journal on Commerce and Management. I graduated from college, first in my class and was offered a position as a business intern at Steven Biotech.

After completing the 3-month probationary period, I was converted to a full-time employee in the capacity of a business associate. As a business associate, I am responsible for increasing the sales and overall growth of our company in the northern zone. Along with my team, I conduct market research on how to boost sales with our existing customers and bring in new clients as well.

I am an ambitious individual with a drive to succeed. My 14 months of experience in the sales division has greatly enhanced my negotiation and communication skills. I have become adept at identifying a business opportunity and presenting the right solutions to clients. I feel this position has prepared me for the next level in my career. I am applying for the MBA program since I am interested in learning the skills to become a manager at a global organization.

I believe this program will help me learn leadership and organizational skills essential for a business manager. I am especially interested in the business negotiation and corporate regulation courses offered in the program. I am also interested in furthering my knowledge in financial accounting, marketing management and e-commerce by taking this program. Lastly, but most importantly, I am excited to gain practical business knowledge from industrial visits and corporate connect events included in the program.

I am especially excited about applying for a degree in Germany because of its flourishing job market and the high quality of education imparted at German institutes. Besides, studying at an international institute will widen my horizons and give me the opportunity to get acquainted with professionals from all over the world.

While working on my current job, I have developed excellent collaboration skills with team members and co-workers which I believe is an essential skill required to be a part of this program. I have also been leading a team of 5 business associates at my present capacity. This experience has equipped me with the ability to assume leadership roles as and when required.

A few months ago I and my team closed a deal of 500,000 USD per month with an overseas client. Not only was I praised by my superiors for bringing in the business, but I also gained more confidence in my professional capabilities. It goes without saying, I would not have been able to close the deal without support from an excellent team.

Outside of my professional life, I am an enthusiastic painter. I have been passionate about painting since as long as I can remember. I have recently won 2nd prize at the All India Painting Competition for my entry in the Art is My Passion category. I also upload my work regularly on my online portfolio- www.midnightmusings.com.

I truly believe I would be a perfect fit for this program with my sincere work ethic and dedication to perfection. Being a part of this program will play an essential role in helping me achieve my dream of becoming a manager at a global organization and increasing the business of my organization.

Once I gain sufficient experience, I have a dream of becoming an entrepreneur and running my own business. However, none of these dreams will become a reality unless I receive proper training and education. Thus, it is of utmost importance to me that I become a part of this competitive International Business MBA program at your university.
