The course is designed decently for a bachelor of commerce degree and it covers almlost every aspects related to commerce . But it definitely lacks its ability to prepare a student for real wolrd applications as it focuses more on the theory part which is something needed to be improved . Students should be made practically skilled by adopting some different techniques or by changibg the curriculum by making it more practically inclined. The frequency and timing of exam is well planned and executed and the difficulty level is moderate giving room for every students to pass the examination while also taking strict actions on students using unfair means

Gauhati commerce college is best for b.com degree as they maintain regular class and uniformity in learning. They provide good knowledge regarding the course which will help me in future job applications. One thing they must improve in teaching is they must be more open with the students

Students are eligible for placement after B.com 6th semester. Many companies visited our college during the time of campus placement. many companies like ICICI bank, HDFC bank, and Mahindra & Mahindra came during placement times.
Placements are held every year in the college with various companies and banks like HDFC, AXIS, etc. The students of the last semester are eligible for campus placements and they sit for the interview held.
Students are eligible for campus placement from the end semester. Only about 20 percent of the students are placed with an average salary of 150000 per year. Companies such as SBI, Reliance, and ITC came for jobs like junior accountant. The highest package is 4 lakhs per year and the lowest package can be from 60000 to 70000 per year. My plan is pre-decided, I am currently pursuing a CA which will surely complete after the completion of my degree and I might also aim for some IIM by giving the CAT exam.
Term exams usually are conducted in 5 months approx and within which there also lies a sessional exam from which 10 marks are sent to the final exam. The students must be very attentive in class as important questions are also discussed related to exams and everything else lies on preparation.
I have passed class 12 with the commerce stream that's why I choose BCom (Hons) course. The faculty in this college is awesome they are well knowledge and supportive. But the student ratio is bit high 672 students in a single batch. Teachers are well qualified they have done masters and well Ph.D. from recognized organizations. Teaching methods are good, but they usually use their local language which is a great barrier for students. The term exams are a little fast. Students get hardly 3 months before semester exams.
