- McMaster University offers MEng Electrical and Biomedical Engineering for a duration of 1-2 years.
- It is an on-campus, course-based program available on both a full-time and part-time basis.
- This program focuses on biomedical engineering which is open only to graduates who have maintained a minimum average of B in each year of the B.Eng. program in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering.
- The program consists of a minimum of 3 consecutive terms in which the students are required to complete successfully six graduate half-courses (or equivalent), of which at least 4 must be 700 level and up to two 600 level courses approved by the department, followed by an independent study term.
- In the final term, the student is required to submit and defend a report on an approved project which must demonstrate the ability to carry out independent study and reach a satisfactory conclusion in an area of biomedical engineering.
- Students for the degrees of M.A.Sc., M.Eng. and Ph.D. must present a seminar on a topic approved by the Department at least once during the course of their programs.
- Students get the facility to apply for a co-op program which is optional.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students have to complete an honors bachelor's degree in a related field from a recognized university.
- The related fields include a UG degree in computer engineering, applied computing, applied physics, biology, computer information systems.
- Students must have a B+ minimum average grade, based on a full-year equivalent of final year courses relevant to the program.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Or, completed a 3-year UG degree must have a substantial background in computer science or software engineering or a related field.
Submission of GRE scores is not compulsory for this program, however, if students have given the GRE exam then it is recommended to submit the scores (minimum 300) for a better chance of admission.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
